The 9m Navy Lady

She had a cane

She was tall and fair

Quite old, slight and frail…

Requesting summer sandals

She walked slow

Following my lead

My knowledge of

What she needed

She was not demanding

Almost thankful to be

Receiving any help at all

Grateful that I had

Even inquired if she

Needed my services

She came for tan

And settled for navy

She paid cash

The two white style’s

I brought out for her to try

Were too narrow for her

Wide, worn, lived in feet

I fumbled as I tried to assist her

Putting them on

Awkward moment for

The both of us

She was alone and I wish I had

Been kinder, smiling at her

Showing mercy, care and patience

Instead she left with her

9m Navy Sandals

I did not watch her walk away

Or wonder where she was going

The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe

I am not concerned with a lion, planned parenthood, Donald Trump or any other news story that gets millions of people all anxious and rowdy and riled up over.

When we start comparing things against each other we put ourself right into a position of being critical and making unfair judgements. I surely am saddened by it all. I also grieve over them because I believe it all grieves God’s heart.

What I choose to do instead of reposting vile videos and blogs and weighing everyone’s opinion on what is worse or more worthy of drawing our attentions to, is I am choosing to pray for them all.

I pray for the hearts of the people that felt the need to do the dishonest hunt against this lion and I pray for this dentist that needed a trophy kill and his pride and greed got the better of him.

I pray for planned parenthood and all the evil greedy deeds that have allowed them to profit off abortions and selling of aborted baby organs and tissues. I pray it will be exposed and that God will intervene on behalf of the people who are involved. I pray that God will allow me the divine encounters to speak about choosing life over abortion to many girls and women so that they won’t feel they have no other option.

I pray for Donald Trump to take a moment to weigh his words before he speaks and while he is well meaning and has spoken many truths, he has also misspoke and categorized people unfairly which makes it hard to retrieve the words once spoken.

I pray all these stories and people involved will come to know the restoring and transforming power, love, and grace of Jesus Christ.

I pray for the media that has continued to spin the truth on many many other news stories to turn from their lies and begin to speak truth.

I pray for all people including myself to retire their soapboxes, their criticisms, judgements, dividing doctrines, religious spirits and finally be on fire and riled up for Jesus and wanting to get busy getting on with the Father’s business- which is to Love God, and Love others’ as yourself.

I pray that I will choose to be a light to others in this dark world and not be tempted to spread and share the darkness.

I pray that I will remember to be humble and that we have all been guilty of greed, pride, and unworthy words on some level at some time in our life.

I pray that I will always extend Grace and forgiveness because I have been forgiven of much and given God’s Amazing Grace.

Will you join me in praying ?
                      -XXOO Michelle Bollom

Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with beauty and truth. Meditate on whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy.

                     – Philippians 4:8 The Voice

“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.”

                          ~Matthew 7:1-5 MSG

The Word Of Life

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

As I was in prayer this week God began to show me a garden. It was scorched and dried up, choked by thorns and weeds. There was no green to be found, the leaves had all crumbled away and all that was left was dried twigs and branches. Then, there came a gust of wind and like a National Geographic time lapse video, leaves began to grow and flowers began to bud. Tiny shoots pushed their way up from the earth and grew into tall, strong plants. Fruit began to ripen on vines and the garden that was once dry and barren became bursting with life in just a matter of seconds.

We, as believers, are like a garden. We are meant to grow and bear spiritual fruit for the glory of God’s kingdom. (John 15:1-6) God promises us a harvest of blessing when we are faithful to Him. (Galatians 6:9) In order to be fruitful and bring a harvest there must be life in the garden. The garden that God showed me was dead at first. There are 2 key areas in this image of the dead garden that are important:

Lack of Water

In John 7:37-39 Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as “rivers of living water.”

Ephesians 5:26 says that we are cleansed through the washing of the water through the word of God.

Even the healthiest of plants cannot survive without water; when it is left with no source of water, it will shrivel and die. Regular watering is necessary to the life of the plant. A plant that is watered sporadically will eventually die if it is neglected. It may take longer than a plant that is receiving no water at all, but the end result is the same – lack of fruitfulness and failure to thrive. When we fail to water our hearts with the Holy Spirit and the truth we find in the Bible, we spiritually wither and dry up. The Bible says that we should be “watering” daily if we want to be fruitful as followers of Christ. (Joshua 1:8, Acts 6:4)

Weeds and Thorns

Jesus referred to weeds and thorns in his parables. In Matthew 13:3-8 He tells of a sower who plants seeds among thorns, which choke the plants and kill them. In Matthew 13:24-30 He talks about a man who had a wheat field. An enemy of the man came and planted tares, or weeds, amid the wheat to try to ruin the harvest.

We will encounter weeds in our lives – things that work against the purposes that God has set for us. Sometimes those weeds may be caused by circumstances or situations we face in our day-to-day lives. These are the common everyday weeds in the garden. Just as we overcome our circumstances through faith and obedience to God, our spiritual weeds are removed from the garden of our lives through faith and obedience. Our situations are capable of overwhelming us like weeds when we don’t allow God to prune them away through relying on His strength instead of our own.

Not only are there ordinary weeds that we face, the Bible says that we have an enemy that is seeking to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8.) We also encounter weeds in our lives that are deliberately planted by the enemy. The malicious potential in these attacks of the enemy are uprooted when we seek the Lord and walk in obedience to Him. (Leviticus 26:3) Our lives can only be a fruitful, healthy garden when we allow God to tend to us and remove the weeds that inevitably show up.

In the image of the garden that God showed me, the garden was not tended. It was completely dead. However, both of the conditions that led to that state were preventable. If we apply this to our own lives, this is great news! If we are diligent in the care of the garden of our lives, tending it as instructed by scripture, we will not only see life but experience fruitfulness. The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of a life surrendered to Christ. (Galatians 5:22-23)

But what if our garden is dead? What if we have dried up and are overwhelmed by the weeds that have stolen our strength? How does that wind that God showed me in the image of the garden come in to revive and resurrect it?

Resurrection and Life

God has given a word of life for you and that word is the mighty name of Jesus. In John 1:1-4 it refers to Jesus as “the Word” and says that in Him is life and that life is the light of all mankind. Jesus is the source of life. We access the life-giving power of Jesus through speaking His name. The Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21.) When we speak the name of Jesus, we tap into the source of life and allow him to work in us. The Bible promises that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32)

Over and over throughout scripture, the power of the name of Jesus is demonstrated. Jesus declared Himself as “the resurrection and the life” in John 11:25. He demonstrated his power over life and death through the resurrection of Lazurus and in His own resurrection. Not only did Jesus perform miracles, He promised that his followers would be able to use the power of His name.

Mark 16:17-18 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

When the garden is not watered and weeds creep in, there is decay and death, but the Word promises that when we apply the name of Jesus to our lives that nothing is impossible for us. (Matthew 19:6, Mark 10:27) The Holy Spirit is compared to a “mighty, rushing wind” in the Bible. (Acts2:2) Calling on the name of Jesus releases the power of the Holy Spirit to work in us and bring life and renewal.

Waking What is Sleeping

In John 11:1-44 Jesus tell his disciples that their friend Lazurus “has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.” The disciples thought Jesus was talking about natural sleep, but He corrected them saying that Lazurus was in fact, dead. By the time Jesus arrives at the tomb after meeting with Mary and Martha, Lazurus had been dead for 4 days. In the natural order of things, life at this point has long departed and it’s return is impossible, but Jesus called out to Lazurus by name and Lazurus rose from the tomb. Then, Jesus commanded, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

Sometimes we look at the garden of our life and all we see are dead things. Sin may have come to disconnect us from God. Lack of faith or submission to God may have cut us off from His power in our lives. There may be areas of failure, defeat and destruction that is evident in our lives, but Jesus is the ultimate power. We may be overcome by circumstances and spiritually dead, but the Bible says that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. (Romans 8:11)

When we call on Jesus, His power is able to transform us and breathe life into that which is dead. In Isaiah 43:1 God says, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” You, in particular, are important to God! The Bible says that He knows us by name and claims us as His own. Like Lazurus, He calls us individually, by name, to lay claim to us and breathe His life into us. Not only does He bring life, but when we are walking in submission to Him, He removes the grave clothes – the things that held us in bondage to that death state – and sets us free!

Buried Seed

In Matthew 9:18-25, Jesus encounters a synagogue leader whose daughter had died. At the leader’s house there was a crowd of witnesses who could attest to the fact that she was dead, yet when Jesus arrived He said, “The girl is not dead, but asleep.” Remember, Jesus referred to the dead as sleeping because He holds power over death. The crowd laughed at Him, because they could see with their own eyes that she was dead, but then Jesus took the girl’s hand and she got up.

Something that God brought to my attention in the image of the garden was this; not only was life brought to the plants that were dead in the garden, but new life was created in the seeds that took root. Just like the crowd of people who were at the leader’s house perceived the death of the girl, there are areas in our lives that we may identify as dead. Continuing to believe in that particular area may seem pointless – after all, it is dead. People may even laugh at us for speaking words of faith in that area. Our response when we identify it as dead, is to bury it, to lay it to rest. Sometimes the things that we buried because we called them dead are in fact seeds that God wants to breathe life into!

Our garden may seem dead. We may feel neglected. We are not without hope! Begin applying the name of Jesus to your life! Whatever the situation is, God has power over it. It may be an area that we have been defeated in. It may be an addiction. Begin speaking the name of Jesus over your life and He will set you free! You may be facing a hopeless health issue. Your family may be struggling or your marriage at the brink of destruction. Speak life into that circumstance in the name of Jesus! You may feel purposeless, and given up on your hope and dreams. Call on the name of Jesus and He will birth new life into you and cause the dreams that He has set for you to come into being!

Sometimes tending to the garden is work. You may have to keep pouring water and pulling weeds. It may take time, but don’t grow weary in your labor, because God is faithful. He promises that there is life in the Word. The Word is living and alive in you and even that which is dead is not unreachable for Him. Even the impossible is possible through Him. His name is available for you to use and call upon. It is the Word of Life, and it is for you.

Burn Me Up

I keep getting bombarded with reminders that we all are in this thing we call “life” together. After all there is just one planet identified with people. It’s called Earth.
We are all stuck on this planet close in proximity living out our existence. People from all walks of life exhibiting different cultures, lifestyles and sometimes polar opposite beliefs. We are expected to co-exist together harmoniously.
As I am traveling across several different states getting closer to our vacation destination I am reminded how differently we all live sometimes just depending on the place we happened to be born.

I’m always asking God questions.

Why can’t everyone just believe and be like me???

I know that sounds prideful. But let’s be honest. Have we not all at one time or another thought our way or the highway.
If everyone thought like me with my insightful knowledge and common sense the world would be a better place!!!
Right?
Maybe it’s just me! I may need some of that brutally honest insightful wisdom poured back on me with a splash of humility and sprinkle of love.
Because I am a follower of Jesus. I signed up for His team way back in the stone ages when I was 12 years old. I heard His team wins in the end and I have always liked to be on the winning team!! Go God!!
I thought the best way I could figure out this perplexity of people and why they bother me at times was to
Ask Some Questions
What did Jesus do with all these pressing peeps all around Him while He was on Earth?
What was His divine purpose to come to Earth?
We know the the obvious!’
Luke 19:10 KJV

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Fast Pass to Heaven
What about while we are here living and trying to figure out our own divine purpose and process?

Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly!”

John 10:10 NLT

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

The truth is not everyone is diligently trying to figure out their divine purpose leading them to a rich and satisfying life.

Some people are just trying to lift their heads up from the last blow that was handed to them again and again.

A different kind of ride that is meant to kill and destroy them. Even if it is just their mindset for that day.

Maybe I should extend them a

“Get out of Jail Free” pass instead of a pound on the head with my righteous right arm.

Whom am I to be so impatient with God’s people and his “prepeople”?

(That would be those that He diligently chases after to be His future sons and daughters)

The kids on the team that wins every time. It may be the last inning or the last quarter before they get the victorious crown.
But we win when we choose Jesus.
It’s a process of purification.

I have been through this process. Let’s just get real. I am ALWAYS in this refinement oven of beautification.

I’m a coffee cup. A mugshot of my former self.

It’s up to me how hot the kiln must be turned up to burn off the dross of “ugh”.

Exchanging the ugly for the beauty that reveals my purified pottery portrait.
Isaiah 61:3

“and provide for those who grieve in Zion– to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.”
I call the masterpiece

Know

Define

To know can be defined as being absolutely certain or sure about something.

Affirm:

Jeremiah 29: 11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Recall:

The other day my sister and I were conversing about teenagers and their responses to questions. She told me that often she has to remind her children about the difference of thinking, believing, and knowing. My sister shared that often when asked a questioned about school, important dates, and friends: her children respond with “I think or I believe…” My sister confirmed with her children that merely thinking or believing is not definitive and that she needs them to know.

When my sister was sharing this story with me…I thought how profound! It made me think about how we communicate with GOD, our father. We, as children of GOD sometimes diminish our GOD given dreams and/or visions. Everyday life, has told us that we are unable to pursue what GOD has placed in our souls. We begin devaluing what we have been purposed for.

Quick Question:

Do you fall asleep at night thinking about the vision that GOD has given you?

Do you know GOD has more in store for your life?

Do you find yourself devaluing what you have been purposed for?

I want you to KNOW that GOD has given you the VISION and he will provide the PRO-VISION to bring what you see to life.

The key is to move into a place of knowing verses instead of remaining in the space of thinking or feeling. When we know something will happen, our thoughts and energies will move in that direction and we will create massive momentum to make it happen. We will not doubt. We will approach that goal with boldness. We will abandon the disbelief of self and other.

God already knows. We need to know. How do we move to the place of knowing? The key is to rely on GOD’s word. In order to rely on the word, we’ve got to spend time in the word. When we communicate with GOD from a place of knowing we will see his declaration for our lives: his plans for us to prosper and have an abundant future.

Be Bold. Abandon Disbeliefs. Be Fearless. Watch GOD move.

I DARE YOU!

Exercise:

Dear God,

Thank you so much for declaring prosperity for my life. Thank you for helping me rely on you to move the vision you’ve given me from slow motion to swift movement.

Commit to the challenge.

I DARE you. – LeReca Monik

He Has Your Back

Sometimes do you feel that no one remains faithful? People seem to break commitments so easily these days. When a better offer comes along, they are the first to bolt. Their allegiances are ever changing and makes us wonder who can we count on?
Sometimes people are not very loving or true. Some people don’t even care if they see us struggling in our weaknesses.

Somedays it seems like everyone is only out for themselves – and that makes us wonder, who is really for me? Who has your back?

But do you know who sees your every move? Who is constant and faithful, loving and true, so powerful in everything they do?

Jesus

He is Always for us! He has your back!
As you sing this classic song today- really speak and hear the lyrics.
Let them resonate deeply with you. Write them on your heart to always be reminded of who He is.
He is patient, gracious, merciful, true and wonderful in all He does.
He is Always for me …..and He is Always for you.

You Are For Me – Kari Jobe

Lyrics:
So faithful

So constant

So loving and so true

So powerful in all You do

You fill me

You see me

You know my every move

You love for me to sing to You

I know that You are for me

I know that You are for me

I know that You will never

Forsake me in my weaknesses
I know that You have come now

Even if to write upon my heart

To remind me who You are

So patient

So gracious

So merciful and true

So wonderful in all You do

You fill me

You see me

You know my every move

You love for me to sing to You

I know that You are for me

I know that You are for me

I know that You will never

Forsake me in my weaknesses

I know that You have come now

Even if to write upon my heart

To remind me

I know that You are for me

I know that You are for me

I know that You will never

Forsake me in my weaknesses

I know that You have come now

Even if to write upon my heart

To remind me who You are

To remind me

I know that You are for me

I know that You are for me

I know that You will never

Forsake me in my weaknesses

I know that You have come now

Even if to write upon my heart

To remind me who You….are

In Tune

The more in tune we are with God, the more we are aware of His divine movement. Even the smallest, most minute thing may be the very mustard seed we need to grab hold of. The enemy wants to keep all these things hidden in order to rob us of any hope.

These are the words the Lord gave me. The message is simple, but there is a significance like no other. He woke me with these words in the night, and though I vowed to remember them in the morning, He insisted I write them down (He knows me well)!

He woke me at 2 a.m., after crying out to Him the evening before about how I recognize that while I speak to him 24/7, and I acknowledge Him 24/7, I don’t necessarily give Him much time to speak. Lately, it’s just been me, me, me doing all the talking! I repented and asked that He help me to be a better listener. I asked that He speak to me once again through dreams and visions, as it had been a while. Little did I know He would take me up on it that very night!
~

The more in tune we are with Him…yep…that’s right…the more I LISTEN, the more aware of His divine movement…ahem…the more I SEE Him.

Even the smallest, most minute thing…ok, I got it…that simple little thing that I either didn’t notice OR chose to write off as “coincidental” OR didn’t believe had anything to do with God, may be the very mustard seed we need to grab hold of…ummm…that little thing may well have been the piece of hope I was longing for!

The enemy wants to keep these things hidden in order to rob us of any hope…of course…I should have known, for he comes to steal, kill, and destroy!

~
As I continue to meditate on this simple Word, worthy of interrupting my sleep, I focus on Him and know that he has heard me. I know that He forgives me, and I know that He longs for me to SEE His divine hand in my life.

Lord, thank you for hearing us! Thank you for forgiving us! Thank you for always having your divine hand upon us! Help us to fully be in tune with you! Help us to LISTEN in order to SEE, so that we will never be robbed of hope! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Who You Are

Affirmations- the assertion that something exists or is true.

An affirmation is a carefully formatted statement that should be repeated to one’s self and written down frequently. For an affirmation to be effective, it needs to be present tense, positive, personal and specific. (Wikipedia)

I used to do affirmations each day. I began them with “I am” because of the Great I AM; Jesus Who is capable of all things, so I am also capable because of Him living inside me.
The enemy will get in your head and convince you that you are not something, and I think affirmations are a great way to train your mind and remind yourself of who you are.

I recently dusted off this old App I used to use all the time. It is by Christian Word Ministries. It is a free App called Prayer Book. They have a section of “I am in Christ Affirmations.”

Say these out loud, post on your wall, get the free App and remind yourself often of Who You Are! ~ XXOO Michelle Bollom
