Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a US public holiday observed on the last Monday in May and often marks the beginning of summer.

Memorial Day’s meaning is to commemorate and pay tribute to soldiers who passed away while serving the military service- the Army, Air-force, Navy, SEALs, among other specialized units.

The holiday was formerly called Decoration Day because Americans decorate the graves of the fallen soldiers with flowers and American flags.

In honor of this day, the American flag is raised to half position until noon, to honor the departed souls. After 12 pm, the flag is hoisted to full staff as a reminder that the nation lives and the country will always honor the sacrifice of the soldiers by fighting for justice for all.

Thy Will

Thy Will…

Easier said than done…

Thy Will…

What exactly is that?

The prayer Jesus taught us to pray is:

Matthew 6:9-13

You, therefore, pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven! May your Name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us the food we need today. Forgive us what we have done wrong, as we too have forgiven those who have wronged us. And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One. For kingship, power and glory are yours forever. Amen.’

Sometimes I find myself desiring to repeat these verses over and over. I said it often as a child. It became rote and lacked meaning. Than “life” hit and at times I wondered what HE really wanted. As my mind focused on Him, I often was drawn to praying the Words again. They are the Words He WANTS us to pray!

Another well known verse is:

Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, let not my will but yours be done.”

Jesus faced hardship. He was in the middle of a path to His death. Even though He knew it needed to happen, He wanted it to be different.

When we are in the middle of a trial, we often forget that His will is best. We forget that when we completely turn our thoughts, emotions and desires over to HIM, He will take care of us. In the middle of the moment, it’s so easy to forget that just saying, “Thy Will” is best.

I recently heard a song, “Thy Will” which has become my heart. (Link is below)

I pray that you can find a way to say these words also. That you truly can allow yourself to wrestle with HIM (I wrote a blog about this about a year ago) and believe that He has plans for you that will help you succeed.

Whatever pain or trial you might be facing, learn to say, “Thy Will.” In that place, rest in His Peace.

Shabbat Shalom,

Truth

Truth never changes

Truth sets us free

Truth is found in Jesus

God‘s word is truth

We must not only believe the truth but also live by it.

Unpack these verses on Truth Proverbs 12:19, John 8:31-32, John 14:6, John 17:17, 1 John 1:5-7

It Is The Time Of The Promise

You would have prefered soft paths

Father knew it would never do

You were created for purposes

much bigger then your thoughts

could ever comprehend

You would have wanted to walk on

soft places

Father would not let you settle for less than

He created you to be

You were formed in hidden places

to shift atmospheres

Demons tremble when they hear your name

God set you apart

Trained you in the dark

At times you thought of giving up

Why would a loving Father lead you on paths many never tread?

He knew you would possess many mountains

Rule and reign with His heart and

character beating through you

Everything you have been waiting

for is unfolding before you

Hold fast to My hand

In Me you are safe

Darkness fears you

You dont have to fear

I will take you places to

represent My heart

Influence, influence will be your

middle name

A sword in My hand

Bringing division to darkness and light

The battle has been won

It is your time to shine bright

I love your heart more than anything

I see so many glimpses of Me in you

Hold out your hands

It is the time of the promise

The fullfilment is here

Forgive and forget

The world will see in you a life holy

and set apart for My purposes

You will set captives free

The race has been won

My joyous one

You have been faithful

Come get your reward

I am wiping your tears

The old is gone

Step into My glory

Come get your crown!!!

Ignore All Sideshow Distractions

To dwell upon a thought gives it energy. To act upon a thought gives it life.

Be careful not to entertain or act upon wrong thoughts.

~ XXOO Michelle Bollom

It’s from the inside, from the human heart, that evil thoughts come:~ Mark 7:21 CEB

From now on, brothers and sisters, if anything is excellent and if anything is admirable, focus your thoughts on these things: all that is true, all that is holy, all that is just, all that is pure, all that is lovely, and all that is worthy of praise. ~ Philippians 4:8 CEB

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. ~ Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG
