Unfathomable Greatness

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. –Psalm 145:3 NIV

Recently, the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to celebrate with families who once struggled. I’ve been privileged by the opportunity to walk beside some who have been labeled, forgotten and judged.

They are generations of dried out roots and the abundant fruit of pain and brokenness.

They are blamed and ignored due to bad choices. They become an outcast because they failed to meet an expectation. They are overlooked, because it seems easier to hide behind what one isn’t ready to admit.

I get it.
I was once there.
Sometimes, I still can be there.
I have been guilty of all of these.
And…I have been one of these families.

I am thankful that God provides a reason for each of our lives. He offers a purpose for the areas that have been scorched by pain. He gives restoration for the cracks that needed sealed with the comfort of his love.

He is gracious. He is kind. He is all-knowing. He gives, not for the intention to be condemning, HE IS so that we can have a safe place that mirrors the reflection of his mercy.

Referenced are the the mile markers planted in the last few seasons.

I have learned and grown in the transparency of shared experiences. I find joy in watching the transformation in God’s next generation. I am in Awe.

Sometimes I look up at the big blue, open sky, and mutually find myself in agreement. Yes, Lord, this life has been nothing short of your magnificent greatness.

One True Love

My highest calling is to minister to my King

I am held captive by His love for me

He became my very life

The air that I breath

The sound of my heartbeat

Every song that I sing

I have denied myself to be

One with Him

Brought every sacrifice that He

has asked of me

It was burned on the altar

Till all I could see was

His reflection in me

Through tears and surrender

I have come to know His heart

I would not trade this journey for

silver or gold

At His feet, He has restored me

In His presence, I was made whole

I am a symbol of an abandoned life

His end time Bride

His warrior princess

I am a love sick lover

Of Jesus my Bridegroom

I am in awe of Him

Addicted to His presence

No words will ever be able to describe how I feel

This love affair with Jesus makes

me complete

For the One that I love gave me

His all

He taught me the meaning of

sacrificial love

He is a covenant keeper

His whole being is wrapped in love

I long for Him with my every breath

I am crazy in love with the One

called Love

I can do without everything

Except our secret place meetings

When I am hidden in Him

May everything I do reflect His glory

May my life be a vision of His heart

May I touch everyone I come into contact with

Till every one, become One with Him

I am sold out to my One True love

I am overthrown and overtaken

by my Bridegroom alone

I was born to find my place in Him

Jesus is my greatest need

Lyric Love

I love a good lyric!  How about you?

Music can really stir the soul.

 I like oldies and newbies and classical and country and worship and praise and alternative …with a little funk and a little pop….

Ok- I love all genres.

The app Shazam allows you to identify a song you hear and now Apple Music lets you create a playlist off those Shazam’s.

With this new discovery I am hoping to bring you all some great new or new to you music.

Did you know that every Sunday we feature a song in our #SongSunday category?
You can go back and listen to them all here

Crown of Life Dance

“Blessed is the man or (woman in my case) who remains steadfast under trial, for when she has stood the test she will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” James 1:12

“Double Dog Dare Ya” Challenge:

Each day take some time to “posture” or position yourself to hear from God. You will be amazed at what God deposits in your spirit when you are intentional and expecting to hear from Him.

I read this scripture and paused to soak in what it would mean to have a crown of life. I immediately visualized myself with a golden crown on my head. It had a red heart- shaped gem in the center.

 It was as if the crown had a sound that was declaring, “Love never fails” every time I turned and twirled. My dance welcomed a new partner. Jesus appeared asking for my hand to dance. Immediately, I gave him my crown 👑. I knew the scripture verse that said at the end we return our crowns. I wanted to show respect. But just as soon as I gave it away to him, it appeared on my head again. Now we were both wearing the crowns. Jesus then proceeded to put a big purple overcoat on me that hung off of my shoulders. It drooped to the floor making me look like a small child wearing their dad’s oversized coat.

I started to dance dragging around the coat and crown on my head. I just needed a wand as I twirled and I would have fit in a fairy tale that ended happily ever after. Immediately in my spirit or rather in my thoughts I heard Jesus say to me.

I wrote it down.
I crown you with my crown

I dress you with my garment of praise.

I charge you with my dance.

Freedom Dance

All I did was take 5 minutes to be still and know that He is God.

I read a scripture.

I opened up my imagination

I asked.

I received.

I received or rather danced away wearing my crown of life, knowing who I am as daughter of the King.

I can move mountains with those garments, crown and revelation.

Dance On,

Disturb The Darkness

Bleed this rhythm of love

And watch it erupt in someone’s night;

Fiercely pursue in love,

Someone who’s afraid of it,

Who needs it the most;

Scars are a medal

To those who’ve endured hell

On earth and survived it

Because they were strong enough,

So why not believe that;

Embrace your pain

So your audience can see strength

In the midst of struggle;

Don’t pretend to have it all together

Let yourself fall and accept it,

Don’t put a mask of perfection on

Because we all know the struggle;

Live your life without regrets

Live in the light,

Not the shadows

Where you continue to wait;

Disturb the darkness

With your inner light,

Distract it with your fearlessness

Because we can;

We all have the choice to live,

To be more than our past

Defines us as;

We are not a label,

Unless the label defines

Who we are in Christ;

We can all bleed life in some form

We can be unstoppable,

A fearless child of God

Capable of the unthinkable;

We must choose to live,

To be strong for those

Who want to stop their timeline;

Because they don’t want to die

They just want the pain to stop;

With God all things are possible,

But one must believe that;

To know God means to know peace,

To feel His presence breathing

Life within you, inside and out;

His love bleeds an ocean

I baptize myself in,

So that I may know Him;

May I never grow faint,

But always be undaunted

Peace

WORTHY THOUGHT: What does the Bible say about how to get along with difficult people?

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”Romans 12:18 NIV

“Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.” Romans 12:8

Don’t be ruled by your emotions when someone upsets you.

Let the peace of God act as an umpire continually in your heart.

Have the mind of Christ and love others as Christ loves you.

Whatever is necessary be at peace with all people and remain at peace; as commanded in Roman 12:8.

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  John 15:12 NKJV

~ Angela Lipe-Pattengill

One Track Mind

We are to influence the world and not be influenced by it. Jesus said we are the salt of the earth. We must talk to all of the people that the so called “righteous” look over and count out as “doomed.”

Everyone needs to know the good news. Everyone deserves To know Jesus’ love.

He not only nailed himself to the cross on Calvary because we are sinners, but He died because he saw the value that was underneath our sin. Heaven went bankrupt for us!

It is time that we let everyone know the simplicity of the gospel and how much God loves us. It is time to step out in boldness and in courage. From our stomach flows rivers of running water. It’s time to talk to everyone that comes into our paths and let that running water flow into them. It’s time we get to a one track mind: Jesus.

I challenge all of my friends to bring up his name to everyone you meet today and not be in fear of other people’s thoughts. Because perfect love casts out all fear!

“When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” Mark 2:17 NLT

The Awakened Bride

She has been hurt

You don’t have to ask her

Her face tells the story

Of a journey of pain

Of dreams long forgotten

Buried deep under shame

Her eye’s reflect

Many stories untold

There was no one to listen

to the cries of her heart

Her body bowed low

crushed by pain and betrayal

No sign of hope to be found in a body so frail

Does she know that He loves her?

Does she know that He cares?

Has anybody told her that

He is crazy about her?

That He knows her by name?

He’s the One who defined her

He’s the One she needs most

Her identity is locked up in

What He speaks over her

She will find what she needs

As she moves closer to Him

She will discover her worth

In His deep love for her

She will straighten her crown

She will run on the waves

She will shout to the weary

“Come and take your place!!!”

She has taken His invitation

To passionately pursue Him

She glistens with His glory

She is dressed in His joy

She is stronger than what has

kept her in chains

She has let go of what was

She embraced this new start

She now knows He’s coming back

for a spotless bride

So she better get ready

There’s no time to waste

She is taking her place

As His warrior daughter

Her pain a vague memory

She is drenched in His love

Undone by His heart

Forever she is overtaken

by the King of her heart

Soulshine

When you can’t find the light,

That guides you on the cloudy days,

When the stars ain’t shinin’ bright,

You feel like you’ve lost you’re way,

When those candle lights of home,

Burn so very far away,

Well you got to let your soul shine,

Just like my daddy used to say.
[Chorus:]

He used to say soulshine,

It’s better than sunshine,

It’s better than moonshine,

Damn sure better than rain.

Hey now people don’t mind,

We all get this way sometime,

Got to let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.
I grew up thinkin’ that I had it made,

Gonna make it on my own.

Life can take the strongest man,

Make him feel so alone.

Now and then I feel a cold wind,

Blowin’ through my achin’ bones,

I think back to what my daddy said,

He said “Boy, in the darkness before the dawn:”
[Chorus:]

Let your soul shine,

It’s better than sunshine,

It’s better than moonshine,

Damn sure better than rain.

Yeah now people don’t mind,

We all get this way sometimes,

Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.
Sometimes a man can feel this emptiness,

Like a woman has robbed him of his very soul.

A woman too, God knows, she can feel like this.

And when your world seems cold, you got to let your spirit take control.
[Chorus:]

Let your soul shine,

It’s better than sunshine,

It’s better than moonshine,

Damn sure better than rain.

Lord now people don’t mind,

We all get this way sometimes,

Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.
Oh, it’s better than sunshine,

It’s better than moonshine,

Damn sure better than rain.

Yeah now people don’t mind,

We all get this way sometimes,

Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.
