Restoration Stories – Gypsy Dallas Smith

Many of you don’t know much about me except what you see me writing about.

However, I want you to know that it has only been since the beginning of this year that my writing ministry has taken off.

I used to write publicly for my local newspaper (faith articles) for 8 years. I had a very active ministry and was a licensed minister.

After 17years of a very unhealthy toxic marriage I went through a horrible divorce.

I gave up everything, including my ministries. I laid it all at Jesus feet. I was lied about, shunned, and condemned and ran into a cave by Jezebel and her cronies. I was completely stripped and devastated.

But Jesus never left me.
I have been in hiding and healing for the last 5 years. I have not served in any ministry nor have I become a member of any church. I have allowed the Holy Spirit to minister to me. I have been in a deep season of consecration fasting and prayer. It hasn’t all been spiritual though.

I was stubborn and God had and still has a lot of work to do in me. Years of ridicule, abuse, control and manipulation do not go away overnight.

Jesus has been such a gentleman and gently pulling one layer away at a time. I am sharing this with you because I want you to know that we all have our seasons that we must go through.

Some longer than others.

Over the last 2 years I became a Personal Trainer and opened my own fitness studio. It was a blessed business where I had to turn clients away I was so busy. But secretly I missed writing. God asked me to lay it down. So I did at the end of last year.

Since the beginning of March I have had more happen to me, through me and for me in ministry than I can even wrap my head around.

God is opening doors that I could never open on my own. He is making room for my gifts of writing and stretching me through making videos and teaching through webinars.

Friends, it is all happening so fast and I am in awe of what God is doing.
My prophetic voice has opened like never before.
God is RESTORING everything I lost and gave up. He is blessing me and I am so excited for this time.

I used to look at others being blessed and used by God and wonder, “when is my time Lord?”

Well, I can tell you the time is now. Many of you have experienced the same hardships, the same cave, the same wilderness time.
I am here to tell you that we are in a season of RESTORATION God is restoring.
He is paying you back. You will get back double for your trouble in less time. You are not going to have to work hard for these blessings. You won’t have to go looking for opportunities, they will come looking for you. Your time is now, your healing is now, your blessings are now, your opportunities are now!! We are in a season of NOW.
A season of suddenlies.
Get ready for the downpour.

God isn’t saying look at what I am GOING to do for you. No, He is saying, “look at what I HAVE done for you.”
You are going to be completely undone this year with Gods goodness. It will overtake you and you will be on your face in awe of His love for you.
Get ready NOW!

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. ~ Romans 8:28 NKJV

Twins Again

I was born an identical twin and surprisingly had fraternal twins, a boy and a girl.

Wow! Hard to believe that was almost 18 years ago.

I started out in life doing the whole “Double Thing” I guess you could say.

Well today I am excited to announce -it’s Twins Again!

I am now a published Author! Of not one, but two books.

I actually have other books I was writing and very close to finishing when God took me and my amazing director, editor and friend, Kim, on a new direction and had us focus now on my PrayerScript series.

We set a goal and it multiplied!

Twinning Is Winning!

Now to finish the other 5 in this 7 book series and my other books as well.

Thank you to all our blog followers, family and friends for your support!

Tomorrow we will have 2 blogs that will publish with all the details and links so you too can grab a copy of my twin books –

Your Rx for Fear and Your Rx for Healing.

Pouring Out Our Story

I am as full of words as the speediest writer pouring out his story!

I poured out my fasting story – all 40 days of downloads. Today is #40!

I recently sent a version of my story and had it sent back to rework and edit for a feature spot on a dear friends blog. I know it needs to be done, it was just a rough cut. I just sort of poured out the story.

When I have to edit all the submissions to this blog, from all the stories pouring out, the editing is the not so fun part.

Even editing my own stuff is not fun.

I was invited to do a recorded television spot for our local TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) on how TBN has impacted my life. The first take seemed effortless. God spoke through me and they cheered and then the retake…..

I am a swayer when I talk so they wanted a second go round. That retake did not feel as smooth.
I know It is all up to God. They will send it on and will notify me if they decide to air it or use it.

I just poured out my story.

All these recent things on pouring out our stories and words….

God is always dealing with me on my words.
To speak up and use them or to shut up or choose fewer words.

I love how the verse says, my heart is overflowing with a beautiful thought.

That is usually how it starts. I have a beautiful thought and then I sometimes just get it out and am done, but most of the time we have to edit or do a retake. I love how God speaks to my heart through His word.
I am so so with poetry, but I am for sure full of words!

We all have a beautiful story- our testimony. We may just have a beautiful thought, but God will weave the rest of it out for His Glory.

Trust Him with it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You always can edit or a retake if you need to.
Just begin by pouring out your story!

This is the beautiful final verse in my fasting experience downloads and it couldn’t be more fitting.

My heart is overflowing with a beautiful thought! I will write a lovely poem to the King, for I am as full of words as the speediest writer pouring out his story. You are the fairest of all;Your words are filled with grace;God himself is blessing you forever.  ~ Psalm 45:1-2 TLB

Be blessed everyone!
Thank you for coming on this journey with me.

Never Give Up Hope

When I was just five years old, I was kidnapped and forced to live a life burdened with cruel and bizarre physical and emotional abuse. My will to survive, inspired by an invisible hope, helped me fight the demons and stay alive as I endured haunting experiences. Mine is a story of forbidden secrets driven by darkness and deception. First birthed into a marriage of teenage parents and their destructive relationship, I was later kidnapped, given away, and ultimately raised by strangers who tortured me.
At the age of thirteen, I was rescued by my father. This resulted in his relief and triumph. However, this wasn’t the “happily ever after” I expected. What appeared to be the light at the end of the tunnel only proved to be another pit of pain. I was passed on from the strangers in my life into my destructive father’s hands.
I finally broke free from the physical abuse when I was seventeen years old. God provided help and support in my best friend and her family when they took me into their home. Although I was physically free, I remained living with post-traumatic stress disorder. I have survived poverty, 26 years of eating disorders, marital demise, relational travesties, watched my mom try to commit suicide as a child and much torment.
BUT, I have come through it all because God has saved my life. He has renewed me with strength, dignity and power; He has transformed me into a successful woman.

I write with a transparent, vulnerable intensity touching the spirit and soul with truth. It is my passion to empower others to keep going no matter what and to keep their focus and faith in God.
Where and what I’ve come through is profound and clearly the work of God, His grace, mercy and power. The one lesson I want others to learn from my story is, “never give up hope”. Our lives are too precious and our calling too high to ever settle for less than what God has for us. There is no life without trials and suffering, it is imminent.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Simplicity can be defined as the state or quality of being plain or not fancy or complicated.

2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

Weekly I am looking for GOD to give me a grand message to share and just when I think I have the perfect message GOD shares something else with me. Lately I have been so wrapped up in my day to day activities and I have been trying my best to be so pleasing to GOD. I am listening to the word, reading the word, teaching the word, and sharing the word. By default, I have been operating on auto-pilot and although I have been spending more time with GOD- my mind has been cluttered with so much noise.

I decided to go to the coffee shop to get a little work – work for the LORD done. When I asked the barista for the wifi password, the word “SIMPLICITY” was muttered to me in a soft voice. There I was seeking some big, extravagant experience to share with you, and GOD made it very clear to me that the only thing he seeks is simplicity.

Have you felt like you were “Jolting for Jesus,” “Crusading for Christ,” or “Gearing up for GOD”- to learn you were really “Indulging for Coach-I,” “Sashaying for Self,” “Toasting forTEAM-ME,”!
HA, HA, HA! GOD is humorous, what he really wants from us is the simplicity that life brings- he doesn’t need all the flashiness that comes along with worldly desires. God’s way is simple- believe and obey. It doesn’t get more complicated than that.

If you find yourself, just as I have been-“Sashaying for Self,” God Is saying he doesn’t need all that extra stuff! He is asking you for a KISS- Keep It Simple Servants!

Dear GOD,
I am so grateful that I find simplicity in you. I thank you that my steps are ordered by you. Lord, I know that sometimes, I get caught up in the idea of worship verses presence of worship. I want to remain in your presence and live out what you desire for me. Lord, when I get distracted from the basics of your word; please redirect my attention to you and help me continue to be content with the simplicity of your love.

Commit to the challenge. I DARE you. ~Lereca Monik

A Holy Experience

A few years ago I picked up this book, – well really let me back track a little here. My very close and dear friend Debbie Bouckley; A fellow blogger and the creative director of Restored Ministries, told me about this book and even picked me up a copy of it. So I picked up the book and started reading.
It changed me.

It is right up there for me with Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life and William P. Young’s The Shack, as one of my most favorite and life altering books.

I follow Ann Voskamp on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I read her blog almost daily. I have tweeted and retweeted and also got a favorite or retweet from Ann on occasion.

I really love to share her stuff.

I also one day envision me and Debbie getting invited to her Farm to discuss some God stuff with her!

Her words can leave me speechless in a good way. I always think one is my favorite and then she keeps delivering more and more profound words that hit my soul deep. I praise God for her and her amazing gift of words.

The book 1000 Gifts inspired me several years ago to buy myself, my husband and our twins a journal and have us all start counting Gifts.
We still do it today.
Our Gifts are our list of things we are Thankful for. It has altered our family in a wonderful way.

I was trying to decide on a #FeatureFriday this week and Ann Voskamp kept coming to mind, so
I know God wanted me to share her with you all.

If you have not heard of her or her books I encourage you to look her up on all social media and be sure to sign up for your own A Holy Experience here:

And Ann Voskamp, if you happen to see this-
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I am free to come for a visit anytime and if you are back in Houston, TX sometime; my farm table is open to you too!
