How To Grow Your Blog

How do you grow your blog?

One step, one moment, one person, one blog post, one follower, one like, one view, one comment, one connection, one day at a time.

We don’t worry about how it will grow because God has called us to it, He will make it grow.

It is not about the numbers for us, it’s about the encounters!

We want to Thank all of you, our followers, for your support. We appreciate you all very much.

We can’t believe that this all started in June 2014 and here we are still Blogging!

Life Is Simple

Lately, I have been reminded how simple everything is in life and I make it difficult.

To keep it short and sweet here are three examples from this week I am reminded……
                       Life is Simple

I dread the 4:00 pm time that I open the fridge or pantry and am forced to think, think think!!
What am I making for dinner? I have waited again till the very last minute to magically pull together a hearty healthy meal.
Plan ahead and prepare earlier.

Next time…..

Pull up recipe videos while grocery shopping to get ingredients and watch the video while you make it.

Problem solved
I made this last night. It got two votes for a remake. Needs at least three to survive.

Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

The house is a wreck. The kitchen looks like a bomb went off and everything landed on the bar scattered with the mail from two days ago.

Next time…..

Put everything away immediately in the proper place. Enlist your kids to help you be on clutter patrol.

Problem solved

Jobs are always easier with helping hands.

During a prayer session with someone dealing with a reoccurring struggle I was yet again reminded. We make it hard and it’s really quite simple.
Replace the lie with the truth!!

Sometimes you have to go back and unearth where the lie started taking root in your mind. Dig deep with a shovel and cut off the lies that have became your truth about yourself or others.

Next time….

Discover what the truth is and replace the lie with the truth. A new identity starts emerging and that struggle disappears.

Problem solved

It’s Sozo Simple

Here is just one Example of MANY who use these type of methods to bring healing and wholeness.

Obviously, I am only scratching the surface on simple verses complex life lessons. Let’s just end with the finished work on the Cross.

The Simple Gospel.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  –John 3:16

It’s that simple guys.

Believe and be saved.

The Everyday Battle

While on my fast I have been passing time while I cook or clean by listening and catching up on some of my favorite sermon series.

I have been a fan of Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church in the Dallas Texas area for years. I really like his practical application on how he unpacks the verses and it just really helps me to get the message of what he is preaching on. I also think he is very funny.

Somehow today I had a few moments and was going to check out a sermon and this oldie popped up. It actually is just about 6 months old, and this was such a great message of what he calls “The Everyday Battle.”

He has great practical points that he lists that are myths as well as points on what to do to overcome this battle.

I used to struggle in this area but have been making this a habit now for almost 10 years. I no longer dread it out of obligation, I actually get excited to see what I will learn each day.

I am especially looking forward to paying attention to the song I wake up with each day!

Enjoy! – Share your tips with us on how you overcome this battle. ~ XXOO Michelle Bollom

Perfect Peace

John 14:27 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We all say that we want peace, but we still allow so much chaos to enter our lives. How many times have we watched so much drama and foolishness on television and then began to mirror what we had just watched on television? Or how many times have we listened to our girlfriends stories about their lives and we instantly take on an attitude into our own family life? Life throws us all a curve ball daily, but that’s why God’s Word is in place to protect us and to keep us in perfect peace.
Here are examples of what we may experience on a day to day basis in our families:
1) Kids not listening or not doing chores as they have been asked
2) Running late for work or for school
3)Just don’t feel your best today
4)Can’t find the right clothes to wear
5)Who used the last of the milk or in our house it’s who left the milk out

All of these things can make a day start out a little crazy but PEACE is what God has promised us throughout the Bible. So trust God and his word and He will give you PEACE.

Philippians 4:7 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Promise of PEACE (poem)

I will let God’s peace infuse every part of today. As the chaos swirls and life’s demands pull at me on all sides, I will breathe in God’s peace that surpasses all understanding. He has promised that He would set within me a peace too deeply planted to be affected by unexpected or exhausting demands. God has not promised sun without rain, joy with sorrow, peace without pain. But God has promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way, grace for the trials help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love. ~By Annie Johnson Flint
Women WIth Gifts hosts a conference call prayer every Monday at 6am cst|7am est. Our Monday Devotions are from the topics of our conference call prayer. Our Purpose in hosting this prayer was to reach people that are not only in need of prayer but are also in need of knowing Jesus. For the people that feel that they don’t need prayer we are praying to take our Mondays back, since Mondays are supposed to be the worst day of the week.

Spare Tire Tragedy

We are all driving around town with a spare tire in our vehicles.
Some of us may not know exactly where it is located without getting out the trusty 12 inch thick car manual or taking an investigative look around in our car. Some spare tires are hidden. While some are located smack dab in the middle of the back of our vehicles for all to see.

How many of us see God as our spare tire at different times in our lives?

We only need Him when our life blows out or we hit a sharp nail that throws us off course.
We DO want Him to go everywhere with us. Just in case we need Him. A precautionary plan if needed.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says,
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

We want to know that we can pull out our spare tire named, “Help Me, God” at any time to assist us in our travel crisis. After all we need to stop blocking traffic, get off the side of the road and back on the road with our lives.

Some people may not even cry out to God for help. So the fact that we do is never to be taken lightly. He wants us to go to Him for help!!

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.” – Psalm 34:17, NIV

I don’t want to wait until things go south before I set Him in place to help me navigate through my life. That doesn’t seem considerate or very relational.
Especially if I have signed up for lifetime roadside assistance and eternity with Him.
It seems we are not utilizing all that is available to us as a son or daughter of God.
How would my father appreciate the fact that I only call him when I need something from him or help to get out of a bad situation?

What if I really took the verses I have memorized and positioned them to my front wheel alignment.

The Word of God becomes the driving force that leads me through each day.

For example I could use one I memorized in high school. Yes, in King James Version.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I don’t have a need for a spare tire anymore.
All my tires go round and round on the Word of God in my lifetime. My warranty never expires and I am set up for Him directing my paths daily.

It only works if you are intentional and DAILY check the air in your tires.

No more need for a spare,
all four tires
filled with eternity air.

Follow “All” Directions

Have you ever had a let down that you just didn’t see coming or you couldn’t quite understand?
Recently I was excited to start a new journey. I had planned and prepared and when that day came, all the anticipation quickly fizzled when instead it ended in a huge let down.

I really thought God was leading this venture so I was kind of stunned and confused. I found myself crying out and asking some questions –
I thought this is what You wanted me to do? I thought I heard You on this subject? Why? Why not? What next?

I had started to second guess myself and God. I felt certain I was hearing Him in the direction of this and now all I was hearing was crickets.

I can’t really explain it though, I did not feel rejected, I actually felt at peace. Honestly I felt like I knew what God really wanted me to do but fear had been stopping me. Lack of discipline on my part was also holding me back. What He really wanted me to do was hard, for me, but not for Him.

This situation had me thinking and reflecting for a few days and then God showed me two amazing promises in His word.

Follow all the directions the LORD your God has given you. Then you will continue to live, life will go well for you, and you will live for a long time in the land that you are going to possess. ~ Deuteronomy 5:33 GWT

This is what the LORD says– your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. ~ Isaiah 48:17 NIV

WOW! God so loves to encourage me! I love His promises!
I knew these promises were confirmation that I needed to follow ALL His directions. Not just the easy ones.

Rejection is God’s protection, and sometimes also our opportunity for His ReDirection!

He always knows best. He always gets us back on the right track if we keep seeking and following Him.

Are you facing rejection? Are you at a spot you thought you were to be at and it’s not quite working out?

Go back to God, back to His promises, and wait for what’s next, or maybe, like me, we just get busy doing what He already told us to do.
Even the hard stuff, because remember this promise-
With God-ALL things are possible!

The Key To Success

When you’re busy pleasing God you will have no room to please people.
Pleasing people for fear of upsetting them is not truly loving them. Being a people pleaser allows you to operate in a false, non-genuine state. You walk on eggshells, you feel guilty for their sadness and obligated for their happiness. It is exhausting! People can be addicted to the response they get from other people trying to agree, encourage and build them up. It is a draining never-ending cycle. It takes up valuable energy and time and prevents you from doing what God wants you to do.

Jesus did not say that we have to coddle and please people; He said to Love people.

The best way to really love someone is to be honest with them and set boundaries. You don’t have to buy into their drama.

Those that matter will appreciate your honesty, respect the boundaries, be willing to grow, and change. Those that don’t – well, it just may be time for the ole “Gift of Goodbye!”

Not everyone is going where God is calling you.

Not everyone is beneficial to our growth. Sometimes the sucker branches have to be pruned to allow for new growth and better fruit to develop.

It is time for us to stop being distracted by those “sucker branch” people, find our words, set boundaries, and stop compromising our true self by trying to please people.

Let us get busy doing and being all God wants us to be! ~XXOO Michelle Bollom

Live your God ordained life, not just a counterfeit version to keep people happy. ~ Joyce Meyer

So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,~ Colossians 1:10 NIV

For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.~ 1 Thessalonians 2:4 NLT

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. ~ John 15:1-2 NIV
