Hall Of Fame

I hate to admit this but I have never heard of this group or the song, “Hall of Fame”.

I’m usually a couple years behind the curve ball of being hip on the latest and greatest. It was mysteriously added on my iTunes account along with three other songs that were new to me. This one and another one had a parental advisory on the bottom left corner.

I had limited access on my phone while traveling out of the country. So I thought I would listen to my music while on the plane headed back home.

I found out later that United Airlines had a complimentary selection that downloads on your phone while you are flying with them.

Creepy!!

The song disappeared when I got off the plane.

Hall of Fame

By The Script
Lyrics:

Yeah, You could be the greatest

You can be the best

You can be the King Kong banging on your chest

You could beat the world

You could beat the war

You could talk to God, go banging on his door

You can throw your hands up

You can beat the clock

You can move a mountain

You can break rocks

You can be a master

Don’t wait for luck

Dedicate yourself and you can find yourself

Standing in the hall of fame

And the world’s gonna know your name

‘Cause you burn with the brightest flame

And the world’s gonna know your name

And you’ll be on the walls of the hall of fame

You could go the distance

You could run the mile

You could walk straight through hell with a smile

You could be the hero

You could get the gold

Breaking all the records that thought, never could be broke

(Warning, watch out for the “H E double hockey stick” word)

Alongside listening to the song, I was reading a short book by Jeremy Lopez called, “The Power of Mindsets”.

They both go hand in hand!

Your mindset has the potential to shift you out of negative mind patterns into new positive life changing ones.

New mind scripts!

I’m scared to see what other songs they sing!!

However; this particular song has a powerful message and I am happy I discovered it.

Be a champion!! Hall of famers can influence big or small. Even if it’s just one person you help that individual could be marked to make a difference in the world.
You can be and do whatever you focus your thoughts and mindset upon.

Where is your intention and attention?

Do you need to do some shifting?

For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Proverbs 23:7-God

Your life is governed by what you think. Your thoughts are the steering wheel of your life. If the waters of your life look rough and you see the boat headed into a storm, just change the way you’re thinking and the boat of your life will shift 180 degrees to calmer waters.”-Jeremy Lopez

I know exactly what Jeremy is talking about on this one. I took windsurfing lessons for the first time this week. It is so true you just turn your sail and go the total opposite direction you were heading. Of course, it takes practice to perfect that turn.

The song with lyrics on you tube.

What’s Your Story

Do you share your story?

You know the story of how God has saved you. The story of where you’ve been and thankfully where God is taking you. The stories that once brought you much shame and heartbreak.

Some of us have many stories, and we know them so well. When we think upon them we get emotional. Well, have you shared that?

Have you released the power and freedom that comes with telling people what God has done in your life?

There is so much to my story; so many ways God has shown up for me. He’s protected me time and time again from my poor choices or blessed me in ways I didn’t deserve.

Winning Miss Texas USA; restoring my marriage, kicking alcohol to the curb, and blessing me with the richest friendships are just the highlights of my crazy story.

If you looked at me and even the pictures I put on social media, like so many of us do, you may not believe that my story was once filled with shame, despair and turmoil. All of this brought on by sexual abuse, promiscuity, insecurity, lies and bad choices.

If I didn’t share these stories with people who are hurting or need to hear someone say “That’s happened to me, I’ve done that, there’s a way out; they wouldn’t serve the greater purpose God had for all of it.

I no longer carry the shame of those stories. I have released that shame and have been able to turn it into empathy and grace for others and even myself.

I’ve only been able to do that by giving it all to Jesus; each part of my story every time I have needed to.

Every time I’ve struggled with something I’ve had to ask God to help me. I have had to surrender to the fact that on my own I mess things up. I have to surrender to the fact that I will make mistakes, but God can use anything I give Him for my ultimate good and His glory.

Let me encourage you to be courageous in sharing your story. Let me encourage you to lose shame and share victory with others. Let me encourage you to get vulnerable.
I assure you that you are not alone in your struggle. You are not alone in your victory either because we all need to hear each other’s stories.

Enjoy this beautiful song about sharing our stories.

The grace that is greater than all my sin.

Flawless

No matter the bumps

No matter the bruises

No matter the scars

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

No matter the hurt

Or how deep the wound is

No matter the pain

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

I am loving this song!

Take a breath smile and say

Right here right now I’m ok

Because the cross was enough

Great lyrics and song this week for SongSunday- Plus an amazing video- watch it here:

Could it possibly be

That we simply can’t believe

That this unconditional

Kind of love would be enough

To take a filthy wretch like this

And wrap him up in righteousness

But that’s exactly what He did –

“Flawless”

By Mercy Me

Lyrics:

There’s got to be more

Than going back and forth

From doing right to doing wrong

‘Cause we were taught that’s who we are

Come on get in line right behind me

You along with everybody

Thinking there’s worth in what you do
Then Like a hero who takes the stage when

We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late

Well let me introduce you to amazing grace
No matter the bumps

No matter the bruises

No matter the scars

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

No matter the hurt

Or how deep the wound is

No matter the pain

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless
Could it possibly be

That we simply can’t believe

That this unconditional

Kind of love would be enough

To take a filthy wretch like this

And wrap him up in righteousness

But that’s exactly what He did
No matter the bumps

No matter the bruises

No matter the scars

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

No matter the hurt

Or how deep the wound is

No matter the pain

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless
Take a breath smile and say

Right here right now I’m ok

Because the cross was enough
Then Like a hero who takes the stage when

We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late

Well let me introduce you to grace grace

God’s grace
No matter the bumps

No matter the bruises

No matter the scars

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

No matter the hurt

Or how deep the wound is

No matter the pain

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless
No matter what they say

Or what you think you are

The day you called His name

He made you flawless

He made you flawless
No matter the bumps

No matter the bruises

No matter the scars

Still the truth is

The cross has made

The cross has made you flawless

Born Again

Born Again by Third Day

Lyrics:
Today I found myself

After searching all these years

And the man that I saw, he wasn’t at all who I thought he’d be

I was lost when you found me here

And I was broken beyond repair

Then you came along and you sang your song over me
It feels like I’m born again

It feels like I’m living

For the very first time

For the very first time

In my life
Make a promise to me now

Reassure my heart somehow

That the love that I feel is so much more real than anything

I’ve a feeling in my soul

And I pray that I’m not wrong

That the life I have now, it is only the beginning
It feels like I’m born again

It feels like I’m living

For the very first time

For the very first time

It feels like I’m breathing

It feels like I’m moving

For the very first time

For the very first time
I wasn’t looking for something that was more

Than what I had yesterday

Then you came to me and you gave to me

Life and a love that I’ve never known

That I’ve never felt before
It feels like I’m born again

It feels like I’m living

For the very first time

I’m living for the first time

It feels like I’m breathing

It feels like I’m moving

For the very first time

I’m living for the first time

In my life

21 / 21 Vision

I am going after some 21/21 vision these days.

Matthew 21:21

We have to back up a bit and see what’s going on ahead of our 21/21 vision.

Matthew 21:18-22
The Withered Fig Tree
18-20 Early the next morning Jesus was returning to the city. He was hungry. Seeing a lone fig tree alongside the road, he approached it anticipating a breakfast of figs. When he got to the tree, there was nothing but fig leaves. He said, “No more figs from this tree—ever!” The fig tree withered on the spot, a dry stick. The disciples saw it happen. They rubbed their eyes, saying, “Did we really see this? A leafy tree one minute, a dry stick the next?”

21-22 But Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Yes—and if you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God, you’ll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over huge obstacles. This mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it will jump. Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God.”

Matthew 21:21 basically says
If you have faith and do not doubt you too can move mountains and wither fig trees. Jesus reminded the disciples and now us the importance of our words. I would suggest our thoughts contribute to our vision of what we believe of things to come.
They all work together to create sight beyond our natural eyesight.

Do you want to see beyond what you can see with your eyeballs?

Me!! Me!! Raising my hand high up in the air,  jumping up and down.

I need to see past the circumstances of what I see with my natural eyesight.

A fig tree may not be involved.
It could be something else going on in your life. It’s possible things don’t look so promising for you. You didn’t hear the best news about one of your children or yourself.  You keep asking God for answers to why bad things keep happening.
You’re wondering how long your prayers are going to be stuck to the ceiling in your bedroom.
Keep speaking to that mountain.
Don’t give up!!
Take your doubt and exchange it for trust. Turn in your frustration and pick up some faith.  It only has to be as small as a mustard seed to get started.

Matthew 17:20
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Listen to this song and ask God to give you new vision of your circumstances and take a chance on Him to hold you tight through the storm!!

It is Well by Bethel Music

Verse 1
Grander earth has quaked before
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard

Chorus
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well

Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
It is well with me

Verse 2
Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can’t see

And this mountain that’s in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea

Chorus
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well

Bridge x3
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name(repeat last line during 3rd run)

It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
repeat 3x(increasing in strength and volume)

It is well it is well with my soul x3
ahhhhhhh (softly)

Chorus x2-3 (softly slowly)
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You Lord
Through it all, through it all
It is well with me.

Welcome Home

IMG_1378.JPG

I recently had a conversation with someone that was talking about how they felt they were distant and not really walking with the Lord right now. They felt that they were not as close as they once were because they have been living in known sin so they felt like they were not in a position or even worthy enough to have a relationship with God because of that sin.
That made me think of an encouraging word a friend spoke into my life while in Israel this Summer. He said that God loves me even when I am seeking and struggling in various areas and not to be so hard on myself.

I decided to speak those same life words into my new friends life and I want to speak them to you.

God does not have a sin scale where He grades our sins. They are all the same in His eyes, but no matter what, He still loves us.
He doesn’t leave us or love us less when we struggle.

I wrote this in my journal last week. I hope it encourages you.

“Love the you now and the you that is coming-God loves both of them the same so you should too.”

And then I heard the words of this song…”No, Mercy doesn’t care what you’ve done”.

We are all searching and struggling and looking in all the wrong places instead of looking to God. We think we have way too much baggage to come back home, but He wants to be our baggage handler and help us unpack.

Can you just picture Him saying ” its time to Come Home My child, Father is here. I am always eagerly awaiting to embrace you. Drop that heavy luggage and stop running. You can’t outrun grace anyway. No, mercy doesn’t care what you’ve done, Just Come Home.”

When you do He will take those heavy bags and simply say “Welcome Home My Child.” ~ XXOO Michelle Bollom

Song Sunday this week is
Come Home by Luminate

http://youtu.be/Ep-8-uPT6kU

Lyrics:
Verse 1

You’re best friends with the word regret

You’re afraid that your life’s been wasted

So why hope if it’s only gonna let you down?

You don’t think people really change

You’re a mess and you’ll always be the same

And you doubt if you’ll ever get it turned around

Chorus

So you’ve been running, searching for something

But you’re looking in a place you don’t belong

It’s never too late, you can’t outrun grace

No, Mercy doesn’t care what you’ve done

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh oh)

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh Oh)

Verse 2

You can try to fix your broken empire

Put bricks on a cracked foundation

But you’ll be building castles on the sand

There’s power in the blood of Jesus

Your father’s screaming “Just Come Home!”

He’s reaching out His hands

Chorus

I know you’ve been running, searching for something

But you’re looking in a place you don’t belong

But it’s never too late, you can’t outrun grace

No, Mercy doesn’t care what you’ve done

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh oh)

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh Oh)

Bridge

From the shadows, From the wrong roads

From the darkness, From the unknown

To redemption, Something beautiful

To a new love, to a new home

Chorus

I know you’ve been running, searching for something

But you’re looking in a place you don’t belong

But it’s never too late, you can’t outrun grace

No, Mercy doesn’t care what you’ve done

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh oh)

Come Home

(Oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh Oh)
