An Overwhelming Privilege

What is it going to take for us to be able to take a group of men and mold them into a team, a cooperating body that builds itself up and works together to bring young believers to maturity, reaching out to the poor and disenfranchised, the neglected, and the despised, bringing the good news to those that need it the most?

To start a church founded on sharing and caring, teaching about what grace means, teaching the truth that leads to godliness, teaching and practicing proverbial wisdom and psalmic prayer. To communicate devotion to Christ, self denial, devotion to the church, to ministry and to evangelism.

How do you take a young believer and guide him to maturity? Daily contact and discussions about the Father, Christ, and the Holy Spirit and what it means to love, what it means to live. Showing him how to please the Father, how to yield to the Son, and how to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Guidance in Bible study, prayer, faithfulness to the church gathering, and meditation on the commands of Christ.

To share the whole counsel of God: faith, hope, and love, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, love, joy, and peace, mercy, grace, and power. To demonstrate what it means to commune with God and with one another. To explain what it means to love your neighbor as yourself. To encourage one another daily to be Christ minded, Spirit filled, and devoted to pleasing the Father.

What an awesome task! What an overwhelming privilege! To partner with Christ in building his body!

We are standing on holy ground; we are inhabiting the heights; we are exploring the final frontier; we are traveling in heavenly realms! All praise and glory to Our Father and Our Savior who gives the Holy Spirit generously to empower us to tread the heights of God!

Merriment for some

Foul traffic for others

Pessimism and Optimism

Sister and brother

Poor people richer than

Beggars behind pulpits

We all simply need

The Prince of Peace

Saving us from hurting

Loving us

To our knees

Bringing His fair clarity

Reaching us in our deceit

Send healing

Desperate relief

Blessed One

Teach us

Not only in you

Lord but in

Each other

So we mirror you

Visiting My Losses

Loss can keep

You on Hold

Unable to breathe

Unable to move

Always looking

Like a heart attack

I visit my losses

And then I leave

As fast as I can

Running towards

The warm, welcome

Loving arms of my

Savior and Friend

If I made a list

It would be unbearable

Going on and on

You’re not supposed

To bear that burden

Look forward

Look ahead

Looking Good

Like God

Like Him

Out Of Darkness

In the valley of the unknowns, in the shifting and the shadows, in the searching and in the waiting; Let God quiet your soul and usher you into His promises and out of the darkness.
He rescues.

He stands forever.

He delivers.

He never fails.

He is with you.
He is Lord over ALL!

Lord Over All – Kari Jobe

In the valley of the unknown

I will lift my voice

In the shifting, in the shadow

I know You are with me
Lord over all

You will be my rescue

You will never fail

Lord, through it all

I will choose to trust You

You will never fail
In the searching and the waiting

You quiet my soul

In the stillness of Your presence

I know You are with me
Out of this darkness

Into Your promise

You will deliver me

Eternal Savior

You stand forever

You are my victory

A New Drug

I hear the old Huey Lewis song – “I want a new drug” swirling around in my head today. I had to YouTube the song just to remember it. Although Lewis sings of a new drug to make him feel like he feels with a new love interest without any negative side effects; I started to think of Christ as a new drug.

Christ is a new drug for some people and sadly for many the last resort, or even worse many don’t even know Him as The Great Physician.

It is true, healing is in His Very Name!
Jehovah – Rapha -The LORD who heals.

Another awesome benefit is there are no negative side effects in Christ.

My friend Reverend Phillip Hand with Vision House Ministries in the UK, has a great ministry. We have featured him before on the blog and you can search by his name to see more posts.
One part of his website is a section to put in your name and download or print personalize healing Bible scriptures just for you to declare over yourself or for someone else. Your own personalized RX for healing!

So maybe you have not tried Jesus, you can accept Him right now into your heart. (See prayer below) Maybe you know Him but not sure if He can heal you and as the last resort are willing to try anything, or maybe you know Him as your Great Physician and want to do it for yourself or someone else – wherever you are, give Jesus a try and declare yourself healed in Jesus name.

Don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? Accept Him now:

Pray this prayer….

Dear God I come to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins.

I believe that Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9; that if we confess the Lord as our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace always leads to repentance. Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen.

Friend & Savior

Shelter them tonight
May provision be hearty
Send angels to guard them
Assisting their way
Those boys are Yours Lord…
May no evil befall them
Let them feel Your presence
Every single day
This time
This journey
Changing their hearts
Positioning their future
In order for Your will
To be done in and through
Their precious lives
Be the mother and father
They long for
Be the friend
The Savior
That You are

The King Is Here!

The tomb is empty- the grave clothes left behind.  Because He Lives- we can face whatever tomorrow brings!

Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness. – Floyd W. Tomkins

“If man had his way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict. In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus’ fist, but by His nail-pierced hands; not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ our Lord surrendered in order that He might win; He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him.”-A.w. Tozer

If anyone or anything tries to curse or kill the Goodness at the Center of all things, it will just keep coming back to life.  Forever Easter!-David Housholder

Shout It!

The saying, “use your inside voice” does not apply here.   No need to “put a muffler on it”
Nope, this is definitely something that needs to be shouted!

Most people don’t look up until they are laid out flat on their backs, at the end of their rope, or at the bottom of a pit.   There are people everywhere hurting and searching but don’t know the answer to what they need, is found in only One- Jesus Christ.

Many have chosen to disregard the Lord and  Savior, Jesus Christ, the Only One that can truly save and restore us.

Some may disregard Him because they don’t recognize their need- either because of pride or by being wounded by the church or religion or they have blamed God for the mess they are in.

And sadly, yet still today there are so many
that have not heard about a True Living and Loving Jesus as their personal Savior.

I recently have been playing this song on repeat-
I get to the part in the lyrics-
Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God !
That is my prayer- this is my cry- I want all people, the poor and powerless, and the rich and powerful to come to know My Savior; Jesus Christ.  The One & Only True Living God.  The Only One that restores and transforms lives.
Will you shout it with me? Will you share Jesus with others?  Come on, Go on and let’s Shout It!

All The Poor And Powerless

All Sons & Daughters

All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely
All the thieves will come confess
And know that You are holy
Will know that You are holy

And all will sing out
And we will cry out

And all the hearts that are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy

And all will sing out
And we will cry out

Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God

We will sing out
And we will cry out
We will sing out

Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God

Hanging Up My Cape

As I sit in my little prayer corner in my room I am feeling so blessed to know the Lord is my personal Savior.  I can’t imagine my life without Him!  How did I do it for so many years before I knew Him and relied on Him so intimately?

I thought I had to do it all by myself.  I carried the world on my shoulders and thought it was all up to me.  I had to be a Superwoman and get it all done alone.  I tried to be everything to everyone, and I based my worth on how good I was and how much I accomplished in a day–I was a perfectionist!  I even based my value on what others thought about me or what I had done.  If I didn’t live up to their expectations, it really bothered me and I felt unworthy.  I was very uptight and worried about every word–did I sound smart?  What do they think about me?

My self-worth being based on what others thought was a bad place to be.  It is impossible to please some people and who says their opinions are right?  Why did I allow others to control my feelings?  It was a never-ending battle and cost me lots of time and stress worrying and pondering in my head about what I should have done or said or how could I make them like me more.

Thankfully all that is in the past now.  I don’t worry or fret about being good enough or worry if someone likes me or if I looked “good”.  I have learned to speak the truth in love and base my worth on what God thinks, and what the bible says about things.  Oh what a freedom this brings! I am no longer consumed by what others think about me — I am a child of the Most High God and He loves me — He created me and calls me daughter!  My goal is to glorify Him in everything I do and to love everyone right where they are even if we don’t see things the same. I can plant seeds and hope and pray that we both grow and learn.  Finding God’s truths and my self worth in His Word, The Bible, has allowed me to begin to live in deeper faith and peace. Knowing His perfect love, really understanding that Jesus loves me, frees me from those old fears.

I hope and pray that all my family, friends, team members and everyone reading this comes to know the Lord and experience His love and find true joy and peace in knowing we don’t have to be a Superstar–or Superwoman or Superman.   We can all hang up our capes and just be an authentic beloved child of God.

When we invite Jesus into our hearts and choose to love the Lord with all our heart and soul and love others as ourselves, He will protect and guide us on this amazing journey called life!
