Restoration Stories – Amanda Eksteen

I longed for someone or something

to change my life

I had this emptiness and loneliness

inside of me

I had a deep hunger inside..

not knowing for what…

I continued having this desire for something

to fill the emptiness

I searched all over for that missing link

I read selfhelp books

I tried to be a better person

I did all the rights things

according to the standard of men

I even attented church on a regular base

But still I was empty on the inside…

Until one day I cried out to one name…

That one sweet name was JESUS

The name above all names

That name saved me…

That name healed me…

That name delivered me…

That name wrote my name

in the palms of His hands

He taught me to love…

He taught me to forgive…

He taught me to have faith…

He taught me to trust Him no matter how hard,

No matter under which circumstances

No matter how I “felt”

He taught me to hear His voice

He showed me my gifts and showcased them

He revealed Himself to me as a loving Father

He told me He loves me

He told me I am His precious daughter

He told me that He will never leave me

nor forsake me.

Today I have peace, love, joy and victory.

Jesus changed my life!

I HAVE FOUND WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

Revival

“Revive us, and we will call upon your name.”

Somewhere along the way we may have been duped into believing that someday, some way, we were going to find the heart to be courageous for the Lord – after we have finished reading the Bible, after we have heard just one more good sermon, after we have acquired just one more encouraging friend.

The truth is that we didn’t get started on this journey by our ingenuity; we are not sustained by our genius, and we will not finish well because of any virtue of our own.

“Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the Son of Man you have made strong for yourself.”

Jesus initiated this love walk of ours, he is the one who keeps it going, and he is the one who knows how to help us finish well.

If there is to be revival of enthusiasm in our lives, it will be because he has seen fit to work in us a new work.  We play our parts, to be sure, but our primary responsibility is to wait quietly and faithfully for him to come in answer to our prayers.

We pray and he responds.  We ask and he gives.  We trust and he rewards us with love, joy, and peace to sustain us in our long journeys homeward.

Many will fall by the wayside on this arduous trek to the heights.  Not all that started on the journey will have the heart for the final ascent.

Instead of a great throng crowding the gates at the finish, there will be just a few faithful pilgrims – those who took oil along with their lamps, those that invested their gifts well, those that chose obedience daily.

He wasn’t joking when he said, “In this world, you will have tribulation.”  Somewhere it is written that “Man is born for trouble, just as sparks fly upward.”

Those who expect trouble, embrace discipline, and cling tightly to Our Father’s hand will make it.

Those who came along for the fringe benefits of health and wealth may not make it through the deserts along the way.  He said himself, “Many are called, but few are chosen.”

The Theory Of Everything

Pioneering Scientist Stephen Hawking passes away at age 75.

This is on my newsfeed today.

One of his most quotable quotes.

On humanity: “We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special” – Interview in Der Spiegel, October 1988

He was considered. a groundbreaking scientist.

Today he meets the Creator who can answer ALL his earth shattering questions and bring him up to turbo speed on where our intelligence comes from that what makes us ALL very special and unique.

Mark 8:36

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

This my friends could possibly explain the theory of everything.

God, open the eyes of the seekers to see you, their ears to hear you, and their hearts to receive you.

The Invisibles

I see them wherever I go

Watching

Waiting to be seen

Hungry

Hurting

Lean

Zero!

They are not invisible to their King

Every isle I’m on

Every light unknown

Longing to be paid attention to

Like a dog they wait!

Human beings overlooked

Paralyzed

Disfigured

The mess we’ve made

Their voice stripped away

Vocal cords cut

From dismay

The silent screams silenced

You know, the walking dead

Your neighbors that you don’t like

Your family you disregard

The molested hidden inside the present

Yes, you get it

Some of us… lived it

These beautiful ones

Their brokenness poured all over His feet

He received their offering

Made it a story for us all to see

The Sun Stood Still

“So the sun did not move, and the moon stopped until the people defeated their enemies. This story is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky. It did not move for a full day.” ~Joshua‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭ERV‬‬

Heartache, defeat, shattered dreams, and broken hearts, all experienced by an innocence that was stolen, a sun that was forgotten, while destiny and time seemed to stand still.

The battle ground seemed dreary and victory seemed hopeless, in the blanket of the night, God knew there would be freedom. He awaits, waiting as we get ready and prepared for the battle ahead.

No matter what your battle is God never stops thinking of you. He understands your pain, heavy heart, unanswered questions, and unresolved resolutions.

He is constant in the sky above and on the earth below. Find comfort in him today.

Co-Architects Of Design

We are now saved because Our Savior Jesus chose to leave the riches of heaven and come walk our sod. He left glory and power for a life of humility and service. He left sovereignty and majesty for obedience and obscurity. He left celestial pleasures for earthly hardship. He left fellowship with the holy ones for ministry to the lost and hurting. He relinquished intimate communion with his Father to take on himself the sin of the whole world.

We, too, have choices to make

We can live lives of relative comfort and peace and safety by taking our salvation and burying it in our backyards and standing guard to make sure nobody steals it. We can ignore the dying world around us, leaving others to find their own way. We can skillfully avoid the messy business of finding and nurturing relationship with our brothers and sisters in the faith. We can leave the strenuous work of building the kingdom to those with degrees and salaries.

Alternatively, we can choose to take up our crosses and follow our master. We can forsake building castles in the sand and instead yoke ourselves to the one who is working incessantly to build mansions that will endure for eternity. Then, we will have a say in where we live, how many guest rooms we will need, and who we would like to have for neighbors. We will be co-architects in the design of our community centers and fellowship halls. We will be partners in business with the wise. We will spend our vacations exploring relationships with the mighty men of God. We will raise our children with the help of the holy women of God.

We Need To Know

For nearly 24 long years there was not one Christian that told me about Jesus and how much He loved me.

Just thinking about this breaks my heart like no bodies business because I can only imagine how common this fact is.

My brothers and sisters, we are His hands and feet. We have the same spirit that Jesus had when he was walking on earths soil. He died so that we can come back to our Father and walk as He walked. Let’s not be boxed in Christians.

Everywhere we go we must let Christ’s fragrance fill the atmosphere. We must pour Him out like a liquid offering.

Christians need to know that Jesus loves them. Non-believers need to know Jesus loves them. Atheist need to know that Jesus loves them. Witches and satan worshipers need to know that Jesus loves them.

Everyone that walks on this earth needs to know that Jesus loves them and it is up to us to show them and tell them! Let’s get em!!

~Thomas Joel Trevino

But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? ~ Romans 10:14 NLT

Decisions

WORTHY THOUGHT: If you are at the fork in the road of life, do you know which decision you are going to make?

King David opens up the beginning of Psalms with a mental image of two roadways, one leads to eternal life and the other one leads to eternal destruction.

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. ~ Psalm 1:1-6

Jesus used a similar metaphor:

“Enter through the narrow gate. For each gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.” -Matthew 7:13-14

How tragic that anyone should perish when Jesus left no question regarding how to inherit eternal life.

To inherit the gift of eternal life we must decide to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior from sin.

Jesus said:

” I am the way, the truth, and no one comes to the Father except through me.”-John 14:6

We Don’t Say Goodbye

Somehow as a Bee Gee’s fan I totally missed this song over the years.

I was super bummed this week that I had gone to bed extra early Sunday suffering from good ole Texas Allergies and bronchitis and had no idea of a Bee Gee’s Salute Special on CBS.

Thankfully for modern technology I got to watch it from the CBS app.

Celene Dion sang the song “Immortality”

im·mor·tal·i·ty

ˌi(m)ˌmôrˈtalədē/

noun the ability to live forever; eternal life

What a beautiful song but ultimately what a beautiful Promise we have in Christ that we don’t ever have to say Goodbye to those we love.

A Vision Of Healing

In the past, God has spoken to me in dreams and visions. I used to write a dream journal, and it was very useful, but had let it lapse. Then several people challenged me to keep doing it as it is important and it is what God is saying to you. So, once again, I kept a pad and pen by my bedside as I have to write it down as soon as I awaken – or the dream will vanish.

What I am going to tell you is an account of God’s provision, It is God’s story.

On Thursday night, March 2, I had a dream with a vision and words.

First I saw a leg…it was very defined…a leg with a foot and toes. Around the leg was wrapped a large serpent. I (Kathy ) was in the dream and I spoke in another language and the serpent unwrapped and fled and everyone was happy.
This was written down but I did not have the interpretation.

On Sunday March 5, I entered the hospital after going to the Emergency Room, unable to put any weight on my left leg due to swelling and pain.

I was diagnosed with Cellulitis and placed in a room.
On Monday morning, an orthopedic doctor evaluated it, and said he would drain the area around my knee and run a culture of it. If it had spread to my artificial knee joint, he was going to have to immediately take out my knee. He said it would have to be completely cleaned out and healed before they would place another new total knee in there…but they probably might place a spacer in it for the interim.

I called John and told him, and we both said at the same time…BUT THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE GOD IS GOING TO PREVENT IT.

Then I remembered my dream of 4 nights before of the serpent wrapped around a leg. Now I knew it was MY leg in the vision.

At that time, God said to me “You have to take action to what I said to you.”

In Ephesians 6: 10-18 – and we all know those verses on how to stand against the enemy. The end verses say “and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” And again, in I Corinthians 14:15 it says “I will pray with my spirit and I will also pray with my understanding.”

And so I began rebuking the serpent in Jesus name – both in English and in my other language..my prayer language. In English I prayed “God – it says in John 10 the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus comes to bring Life and that more abundantly…so I accept Life and healing.”

This kept on all day and night Monday.
I was so sure of my dream and what God told me.

When the doctor withdrew the syringe from my knee, he took out about 10 ounces of yellow thick fluid…that looked like pus.

In the natural, it surely looked like I was going into surgery immediately.

We both kept saying…NO – there will be no surgery.

We evaluated the vision/dream.

There was a prophecy – a foretelling of a future event.

There was a work of wisdom – a telling of a situation

And – a word of knowledge – instructions from God of what I must do.

Every day, dr would come in and say “so far so good – the culture has not grown anything.”

From Sunday – Friday I stayed there in the hospital waiting, with I.V. Antibiotics.

Now we had a name for it – cellulitis.
And, on Friday late afternoon I was released to go home with more antibiotics.
We are rejoicing in God’s provision of no surgery.

Then the devil told me “you cannot tell this story, because you are not totally healed of everything.” But I told the devil “In the Bible, Jesus said “I only do what the Father tells me to do”….so, devil…I did exactly what the Father told me to do…and I escaped surgery.

So…I know I have to tell what God did and we are praising Him mightily for His provision and help. It is God’s story.

And, the most important thing about this whole thing is that we met nurse A and nurse B. they were both in our room, and nurse A bit on our leading of scripture reading and study. She then challenged nurse B if she had made Jesus Lord and Savior.
Nurse B – I used to go to church. I need to get back to church.

Nurse A – it is not going to church – it is a relationship. Being born in a garage does not make you a car.

John – Here is a little pamphlet that tells you what we are talking about.

Kathy – You need to decide soon because Jesus is coming back soon.

Nurse B – that is what my Momma tells me – she says I have to get my household in order.

Kathy – you go to your Momma and tell her you met some Christians who told you the same thing.
In the meanwhile – nurse A worked on me – and Nurse B stood reading the tract.

Nurse B – this is really good – it explains it. I will do this.

And she kept telling John “thank you for the little book.”
Another story of what God has done.
We were just in awe and praised the Lord.
