Love Conquers All

My heart was pounding as I walked into the courthouse that day. I didn’t know what to anticipate. My husband and I were about to force a legal petition to the court, evicting one of our friends.

At a desperate time in his life, we extended our hand. We extended our heart. Now, we had to evict him for non-payment of rent.

My mind was playing tricks, producing negative scenarios, so that I would fear the worse. The enemy wanted me to feel defeat in this place. He confirmed my fears by telling me lies.

I was bombarded by my emotions. I had to take a moment out and just pray.

I needed God’s guidance, I needed to feel him close to me.

I knew….the truth

…..Our friend…knew the truth

……….And….our God knew everything….

It was a difficult place to be and I was deeply saddened to see the negative impact that drugs had caused our friend. I could see it in his face, his apology, his heart.
Then God did something amazing. He came and filled us [all] with His presence.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.~1 Peter 4:8

We sat, talked, and came up with a satisfactory plan. Though part of the resolution required us to help him move his things out, the message was about the space that lay within the heart.

God spoke and said, “Yes, drugs may have power, but the ability to love in the darkness, has more power.”

We all came into agreement that day. We agreed that friendship is far more valuable than what is owed. We were able to speak about the power that resides in us all, and the ability to accomplish God’s great plan for our life.

My husband and I were reminded that without the support of those who love, staying stuck in the dark becomes normal. Hopelessness wrongly seems right.

Love offered to someone, at its purest form, helps them to release the power of fear. It gives strength and the ability to walk towards the light, and in the direction of the Lord.

May the Lord guide us out of the dark places in our hearts. May we go in the direction of love. My hope is that we all find someone that we can offer value to, even those who least deserve it. Let us be reminded that we were all in need of such grace, at one point in our life.

May the Lord bless us in wisdom and understanding that He is the Almighty, perfect in power, and always faithful to forgive.

Blessings to you this Tuesday my friend!

Toxic

She stares and her glare cuts deep
Draining the ocean
Within her victim’s corpse
To dispose all inner constellations
Formed there
Standing once in confidence
‘Til faced with toxic
Fumes
Bleeding through her skin
Wanting her victims
To suffer as she did
Covering up her pain
Made in past memories
Surfaced
Now in reality’s midst
Causing chaos within
The already distorted mind
And relying on death’s kiss
To reap affect inside
The effects of war
She erases all the evidence
Hoping to start over
Forgetting the once believed lies
Tracing back her steps
She tries to believe
Nothing is correct
Just as she’s seen before
Her very eyes
The battles fought and lost
Her corners cut off
By standers observing
From a safe distance
Not caring enough
To get involved
With mingling pain and thoughts
Now
As a slave to the night
She clothes herself
In her own flesh
Bone keeping
Everything hanging
In place
As she attempts
Masking her face
Behind past nightmares
Wanting to appear
Like she’s living a dream
But really
Only beginning
The past to devour
Each and every moment.

Keeping It Real

Fruition
\frü-ˈi-shən\
noun

Fruition-
The state of bearing fruit.
attainment of anything desired; realization;accomplishment:
the state of being real or complete.

We all know the definition of “fruition” meaning attainment or accomplishment and that it is the state of bearing fruit, but I did not know that one definition is “the state of being real or complete”.

That part of the definition really stuck with me-
So Fruition means also “Keeping It Real!”

Now that is something we should all strive to do, and with this new definition discovery it had me thinking-or pondering a little deeper- or maybe just scratching my head- but anyway I wrote this down:
When we are keeping it real and we understand we are complete in Christ, we won’t feel the need to be putting on airs, operating in a false self or finding our worth in incomplete things.  People will know we are Christ’s disciples because our fruit will be good and recognizable when we are keeping it real.
Then I read these verses:

But you will recognize them by their fruits. You don’t find sweet, delicious grapes growing on thorny bushes, do you? You don’t find delectable figs growing in the midst of prickly thistles. 17 People and their lives are like trees.Good trees bear beautiful, tasty fruit, but bad trees bear ugly, bitter fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear ugly, bitter fruit; nor can a bad tree bear fruit that is beautiful and tasty. 19 And what happens to the rotten trees? They are cut down. They are used for firewood. 20 When a prophet comes to you and preaches this or that, look for his fruits: sweet or sour? rotten or ripe? ~Matthew 7:16-20The Voice (VOICE)

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” ~John 15:8

So my final thoughts on all this…
Let’s live the fruition definition by keeping it real friends, show ourselves as Christ’s disciples and be about bearing much good fruit.

The Climb

IMG_1005

Grander earth has quaked before
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard

Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well with me

Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can’t see

And this mountain that’s in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea

So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name

It is well with my soul

Whatever that mountain looks like just let God help you overcome it. Let Him help you move it, climb it, not fear it; but enjoy the journey over, around and through.

I’m reaching that point of letting my soul let go and completely trust in Him.

I have been letting this song wash over me for a couple of weeks. (See SongSundays from earlier this month for the video of the song here: https://restoredministriesblog.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/all-is-well/

The timing of finding it couldn’t be more perfect for me as I am in the midst of radically changing my eating habits to restore my immune system, help control food allergies, chronic hives and angioedema.
Well, this craziness has had me reaching; literally crying out to God, to strengthen me as I embark on more life change. He’s already walked me through numerous trials and triumphs, addiction, sorrow, lack of inner peace, desiring love and attention from everyone and everything but Him, and a rocky marriage. He’s walked me through, and clear to the other side in many ways enjoying places of peace, rest, restoration and hope that I am always desiring to share with others. So I had to ask myself once again. Do you trust Him, fully trust Him? Do you believe what His Word says when He says He lives in You? His Power dwells within you?
I finally got my revelation Sunday night as I combed through and studied His Word and journaled pages and pages of His love for me.

I’ve decided, “It is well with my soul.” Let’s dig in God. I desire to trust you with all of me. One of the missing links was making the decision to accept I needed to change this area. Then I reached out to God, crying out, willing to surrender. Seeking Him at every turn. Being vulnerable and getting prayer and encouragement from family and friends.

I’m ready God. Let’s go. I am ready to climb this mountain.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” ~James‬ ‭1‬:‭2-6‬ NIV

Gals!!! & (Guys) -He has set us FREE from so much!

I know we hear that all the time, but those of us that have truly been set free from an addiction, negative thinking, old patterns, habits, insecurity, people- pleasing…WHATEVER…
We truly know what it means to be free!!

The cool thing is we get the CHOICE and the excitement to choose freedom and feel more and more free EVERY SINGLE day! Yea!

I’m speaking for myself here, there are areas in my life where I still feel like one foot is stuck in my old thinking or behavior, and the other is free…
BUT, oh the DIVINE BUT,
I have the hope and power to choose each and every day otherwise!

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. ~ Galatians 5:1 NIV

Enjoy The Journey

IMG_9913.PNG

Sometimes we are so caught up in getting where we want to be in life or what we want for our lives that we don’t enjoy the journey there.
At the time our journey may not seem enjoyable, rather more like it’s full of inconvenient pit stops …or unplanned problems that come along our way. But really, those inconveniences and hiccups make the journey more meaningful. They bring about the change, the transformation, the game changers!

Remember what God promises us:

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”
~Isaiah 43:19 MSG

“…Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how He did it. Because He never lost sight of where He was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—He could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now He’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. ~Hebrews 12:2 MSG
