God’s Amazing Grace

God’s Grace…

We have all heard it taught over and over. We have sung Amazing Grace so many times we probably don’t even think about the words anymore. And yet, His Grace is exactly what we are supposed to be thankful for!

Grace… is it sufficient for you? Is it a sweet sound to you? Amazing Grace – how sweet the sound!

So many verses about GRACE in the Word of God. Here are two of many…

Isaiah 54:8 I was angry for a moment and hid my face from you; but with everlasting grace I will have compassion on you,”says Adonai your Redeemer.

Titus 2:11 For God’s grace, which brings deliverance, has appeared to all people.

God’s Grace is woven throughout the entire Word of God. God, even when He was angry, when repentance occurred – He extended grace. It truly has appeared to all people.

The song Amazing Grace has been on my mind this weekend. Our family friend, Steph Carse, did this beautiful rendition and I believe it will bless you.

Do your best to truly soak in the words and let them bless you. Don’t just “sing it” or “listen just to listen.” The words are truly powerful.

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now am found

Was blind but now I see

Was Grace that taught my heart to fear

And Grace, my fears relieved

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares

We have already come

T’was Grace that brought us safe thus far

And Grace will lead us home

The Lord has promised good to me,

His Word my hope secures;

He will my Shield and Portion be,

As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Than when we’d first begun.

Rock Of Ages

Holy Spirit is still placing hymns on my heart. In this time of continued rest, He has been bringing to my mind reminders of His grace and mercy. Reminders of His LOVE for me.

Exodus 33:22 When my glory passes by, I will put you inside a crevice in the rock and cover you with my hand, until I have passed by.

This is what Adonai told Moses when Moses “begged to see God’s glory.” God protected Moses. God wanted Moses to know that He would take care of Him, so He placed him in a rock cleft until He passed by.

Isaiah 32:2 A man will be like a refuge from the wind, like protection from a storm, like streams of water on arid ground, like a rock cliff shading a weary land.

Today I have been singing Rock of Ages. The world has been “shut down” for a couple months now. Less travel by many people. Most have not even had work. Families have been forced to be “hidden in their homes.”

The words to this hymn bring the reminder that God has us “hidden” with Him. He alone is my Savior and He alone is my firm foundation. He alone is the Man Who is shading me in a weary land.

As the world begins to “open up” again, stop and find a way to make sure HE is your Rock and that you are hiding in Him. Just TRUST Him and understand that HE is there to protect you.

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

let me hide myself in thee;

let the water and the blood,

from thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure;

save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labors of my hands

can fulfill thy law’s commands;

could my zeal no respite know,

could my tears forever flow,

all for sin could not atone;

thou must save, and thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,

simply to the cross I cling;

naked, come to thee for dress;

helpless, look to thee for grace;

foul, I to the fountain fly;

wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,

when mine eyes shall close in death, when I soar to worlds unknown,

see thee on thy judgment throne,

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

let me hide myself in thee.

Blessed Assurance

What a wonderful, uplifting promise from our Father. We have the CONFIDENCE that He LOVES US! Then we just want to PRAISE HIM for ALL He is doing!

When I submit to Him, I have peace. When I TRUST in Him, I have delight! I will KNOW that He loves me!

Isaiah 32:17 The effect of righteousness will be peace; the result of righteousness, quiet trust forever.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.

This week God has been placing this song on my heart. He LOVES me no matter what.

I am the HEIR of His salvation. I have been PURCHASED by Him! When I submit to His will and His ways, than ALL is at rest. When I am IN Him, than I am happy and blest!

Let HIS Love wash over you. Know that you are HIS. Than praise Him and Thank Him ALL the day long!

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine

O, what a foretaste of glory divine

Heir of salvation, purchase of God

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

Praising my Savior, all the day long

This is my story, this is my song

Perfect submission, perfect delight

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight Angels descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love

Perfect submission, all is at rest

I in my Savior am happy and blessed Watching and waiting, looking above

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

God’s Playlist For You

Listen for your music in the night hours and wake to it in your ears. The earth trembles at the sound of heaven’s song – My gift to you.

~ Jesus

(Marie Chapian Walk With Me Jesus)

Go ahead—sing your new song to the Lord! Let everyone in every language sing him a new song.

—Psalm 96:1 TPT

A new song for a new day rises up in me every time I think about how he breaks through for me! Ecstatic praise pours out of my mouth until everyone hears how God has set me free. Many will see his miracles; they’ll stand in awe of God and fall in love with him!

—Psalm 40:3 TPT

Pay attention to those tunes stuck in your head when you wake up or during the night. That’s the playlist God has for you.

My Jesus I Love Thee

I pulled out some “old” CD’s the other day and started listening to them. One of the songs was “My Jesus I Love Thee.” I had to stop and ask myself, “In the midst of this time of stopping and resting, when it sometimes is hard to see what is to come, can I truly say, ‘My Jesus I Love Thee?”

We are told many times in the Bible to:

Deuteronomy 6:5 and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.

So often we focus on the love God has for us and we tend to “forget” that the first commandment is to “LOVE the Lord your God…” We sing songs that remind us of all He has done for us, but we fail to sing a love song back to Him.

This hymn does that. I see it as a love song to Jesus. We give Him the glory He deserves when we sing it. We truly worship Him.

From the little bit of research I did about this hymn, I found out that it was written by a young man who was either 12 or 16 when he wrote it. He died at the age of 27 (Wikipedia did not say cause of death). Obviously this young man had thoughts of seeing Christ and loving Him in every circumstance that he faced. He knew the Promises of mansions and endless glory.

Are we holding to those Promises? Are we ready to LOVE with ALL the breath we have?

May this hymn bring refreshing LOVE to your soul and may you SING with everything you have to the Creator Who LOVES YOU! By bringing Him honor and worship YOU will be blessed in return.

My Jesus, I Love Thee

My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;

For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.

My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;

If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,

And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.

I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;

If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,

And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;

And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,

If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

In mansions of glory and endless delight,

I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;

I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;

If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
