The Broken Way

I have been trying to read “The Broken Way” by Ann Voskamp for weeks. It is so deep and rich that I have to keep stopping and pondering and reflecting.

I felt the Lord telling me to READ- so I was obedient and finally picked it up again and am barely on chapter 3 tonight when God spoke to my heart so deeply showing me that in understanding the Broken Ways – in many areas of my life, one in particular with a relationship that ended last year that was painful, that I now know both our paths to abundance and abundant life were meant to be without each other.

I was actually able to thank them and God for the years of memories. I felt every ounce of residual hurt just melt away in an instant and no longer felt any sadness or unforgiveness at all.

I can truly see the beauty in the breaking now and know God had a much bigger purpose for the pain.

Talk about a full healing moment!

As Ann states in the book-
“Wounds are what break open the soul to plant the seeds of a deeper growth. Maybe the deepest wounds birth deepest wisdom.

Brokenness can make abundance.”

I can’t wait to see what else this book will open up.

If you loved 1000 Gifts – You will love The Broken Way.

The Burning Within

The Burning Within

By RaNelle Wallace with Curtis Taylor

On October 9, 1985, RaNelle and Terry Wallace tried to fly their single-engine airplane through a snowstorm in central Utah.  They became disoriented and crashed against the side of a mountain, turning their small craft into a raging inferno. Terry emerged almost unscathed, but RaNelle suffered severe burns and died six hours later in an ambulance.  What happened to her then has captured the hearts of thousands who have heard of her incredible journey beyond this life.

The hardcover sleeve states that The Burning Within is a gripping view of the tenacity and majesty of the human spirit.

After reading this book I can confidently say that it is so much more than that.

Rarely has it ever been so easy to see the hand of God.  The words in this book will cause a stirring in your spirit.

The explanation of our relationship with God, our presence in heaven and on earth, and the relationship between our flesh selves and our spirits reads as perfect fact.

“Our ability to accept truth, to live by it, governs our progress in the spirit, and it determines the degree of light we possess.  Pg 98

“It is within the simple principles of the gospel that the mysteries of heaven are found.” Pg 105

While the author’s personal journey and struggle to recover and heal from her wounds is an important story with great lessons for all of us, the spiritual experience of dying and seeing heaven is riveting.

“I understood every reason for everything I did in my life.  And I also understood the impact I had on others.”  Pg 91

“I saw that we all stood before our Father before coming to earth, brothers and sisters in eternity.  I experienced this anew, just as I had experienced it in my own pre-mortal life.  I saw that we chose to come here, to face trials and to gain experiences of this earth.  I saw that we elected to follow a Savior who would redeem us from the sins of our mortal lives and bring us back to our Father.  I felt love and joy sweep over me again as we accepted Jesus Christ as that Savior.” Pg 106

There is so much to be learned from this book.

Expect an impact on your personal spiritual growth.

Soak it in and share it with others.

Sensible Shoes by Sharon Garlough Brown

Brown tells a fictional story of 4 women who are all at a different intersection of their life. All four are faced with the internal struggle of choosing to let the past control them or embrace the redemption and new life Christ has to offer them.

Meg has found herself alone in her mother’s house mourning the loss of her mother and husband’s death after her daughter departs to go overseas to college. She is left living with the ghosts of her pasts and deciding if it is time to sell her home and put those ghosts to rest or continue to live in the comfortable present.

Hannah, a church minister, has devoted her life to Christ and serving other’s in His name. She gave up everything to serve God including the idea of marriage and children. After being forced into a 9 month sabbatical by her lead pastor she has to face the loss of her entire identity and everything her life stood for….and all the pain her life represents.

Mara has forever been the rejected child. Rejected by her family, her husband, her sons and her peers. All she has ever longed for is acceptance and to become one of the popular girls in school…or at least let them feel the pain she felt every time they made fun of her. Can she ever find it in her heart to accept herself if no one can?

Charissa lived her life making all the right choices. She was raised in the right family with the right social connections. She went to the right college and married the right man. Everything in her life was perfectly planned and she always had the right answer to anything she had to face. Until the day she was faced with not having the answers to her biggest fear and the one thing she did not want to be….becoming a mother. Can she find it in her heart to walk in the role she has been called to?

All four women are called into the journey of facing their past and the current circumstances they find themselves in. What will each of them chose and will God really help them to accept where their lives are headed despite their past?

This is a quick easy read and would give it a 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️

Thy Kingdom Come

The Lord’s Prayer is one of the best loved and most spoken prayers on the planet, it is also called Our Father and Pater Noster. This was taught by Jesus to his disciples in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4. This is so important, as it is the only prayer Jesus taught them. He said, Pray like this.

The intention of our Savior was to transfer the kingdom from heaven to earth through believers – – referred by “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”. Matthew 6:10.

You may be thinking, oh my goodness that is a very big assignment for little ole me, and can I really live that way? I believe you can only live this way by knowing who you are — your true identity– through Christ Jesus!! It is a way of thinking and living your life from a place of knowing that Jesus, who lives in you, gives you everything you need to bring heaven to earth. It is seeking Him daily and learning and understanding His word and how it applies to you.
Last week, I attended a conference in Ft. Lauderdale, called As One Movement (www.asonemovement.com). It was awesome!

I truly learned just what it means to bring the Kingdom from Heaven to Earth and it was such an amazing revelation, I challenge each one of you to explore just what this means. There were great speakers like Lance Wallnau (www.lancewallnau.com), Jerry Niswander and Paul Marc Goulet (www.ICLV.com) I will do my best to get you started on this journey by sharing some excerpts from the a book called THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM, written by Paul Marc Goulet.

“Jesus goes on to tell Peter in Matthew 16:19 that, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Jesus proclaimed to Peter that, one day, he would receive the keys of the kingdom and he would have authority to bind and loose on earth just like He could in heaven. This promise was not just for Peter but for every believer who confesses Christ as Savior and Lord. That confession opens a massive portal of blessings and authority.

Jesus has the keys of the kingdom and He is willing to give them to every believer who wants to live a supernatural life, the keys were not just designed to build his church, they were designed to bring the kingdom of heaven to every life, every office, school, neighborhood, government and home.
When we make this type of heartfelt declaration Jesus starts the process of turning over the kingdom of heaven to us his heirs. The keys of the kingdom are real and their purpose is to unwrap the incredible gift that the Father wants to give to you because of his love. The keys of the kingdom unlock wealth, health, joy, peace and love which permanently dwell in heaven. They open the door that releases the atmosphere of heaven into a life and world so dark and polluted. Christ gives us keys that enable us to open the heavens in order to release angelic forces, creative powers and healing.
Remember, it is the father’s will to give you the keys. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.”

I believe this prayer is a reminder for each one of us to bring the kingdom of heaven to our own life and take it with us everywhere we go throughout our day, changing the atmosphere and bringing in the light to the dark places. When we truly know our identity and what we carry, we can begin to change the world one step at a time!!

In love,

Ding Dong Principle

This book inspired me as a Christian (a Jesus girl) not to be afraid to go on a mission for God. Whenever I thought about going on a mission trip before, often times my first reaction was I’m too afraid.
God always reminds me of this scripture …
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
So armed with God’s presence and promise
I found the courage to go to Guatemala in the Fall of 2013, which led to the courage to sign up for violin lessons in the Spring of 2014.
Recently, God told me in a vision that I’m going to go back there to teach violin to the orphans in Guatemala, helping children escape poverty and violence with music.   Sometimes language creates a barrier, but with music there are no barriers.
Reading about Corrie Ten Boom and her missions in this book, I saw with Gods help she moved mountains!!!
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.~ Philippians 4:13 NLT

This promise is for us- so We can too!

Enjoy this Worthy thought: The Ding Dong Principle
by Corrie Ten Boom “Tramp for The Lord”
One day a young girl, who had repented and received deliverance from lust and impurity, came to see Miss Corrie who was presently visiting and speaking at a church in Holland, the young girl goes up to Miss Corrie afterwards and says” Even though I have been delivered, at night I still keep dreaming of my old way of life. I’m afraid I will slip back into Satan’s grasp.
Miss Corrie tells the girl “up in that church tower, there is a bell which is rung by pulling on a rope, after the sexton lets go of the rope the bell still continues swinging, first the ding then the dong. It gets slower and slower until there’s a final dong and it stops. I believe the same is true for deliverance”.
The young girl says “you mean even though I sometimes have temptations, that I am still free, Satan is no longer pulling the rope which controls my life?”
Miss Corrie says “the purity of your life is evidence of your deliverance and you should not worry about the dings and dongs, they are nothing but echoes. The demons know that even though they have to flee at the name of Jesus, the demons will not leave without given their clapper one big swing leaving behind the vibration of ding and dongs on their way out scaring us into thinking they are still there.
But if we grow fearful over the remaining echoes other demons can come in and take their place.
The bible promises that after we confess and denounce our sins, God cleanses us from them by the blood of Jesus. Indeed, He says your sins I remembered no more. (Hebrew 8:12
When we hear the dings and dongs of our past life, we need to remember that through Jesus sacrifice on Calvary, Satan can no longer pull the rope in your life, the sounds of the vibrations may still echo, but they will grow less and less and eventually stop completely.  Satan cannot return as long as you walk in obedience. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.”
Haven’t you learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and He lives in you, and your own body does not belong to you. For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give Glory back to God, because He owns it. ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19,20
However, this does not prevent Satan ( or his demons) from standing outside your house shouting through the window saying “we’re still here!” But Hallelujah! We know Satan for who he is -the prince of liars. He is still not here he has been cast out.
So whenever you hear those old echoes in your life; one of those ding and dongs, you need to remember to stop and say “thank you Jesus you have bought me with your blood and sin has no right to sound off in my life.” ~ Corrie Ten Boom
I encourage everyone to get this great book!

Humility

IMG_0694.JPG

“The Humble Man Has An Advantage Over All Other Men…No One Can Put Him Down!” By Graham Cooke

“We are always victims to our own smugness, arrogance and self delusion. Rest assured we will be taken down a peg or two if these attitudes persist in us. Humility begins to grow in us when we learn to recognize what we are like without Jesus and what we are capable of in Him. Humility is knowing that we have wisdom but we don’t know everything. We are prophetic but sometimes God hides a thing from us. We have power but it fully belongs to Christ in us. In the Holy Spirit we can partner to create something but we are not the Creator. We know our limits but we are also unbounded in the Lord Jesus. Humility has a foundation built upon the fruit of the Spirit. We express love in the face of opposition. We move in kindness, gentleness and patience when confronted by a mean-spirited person. When held in contempt we articulate goodness. When reviled we bless. We have a good opinion of ourselves but not higher than it should be. Humility is not self-deprecation. To believe that in Christ we have no worth is just religious nonsense. If one of His names is wonderful, and He is in us, what does that make us? Humility is the wisdom of knowing that we are unique, gifted and beloved of God, and accordingly, we empower others to realize their identity also. Humility gives us the power to rise up into a high place but not become arrogant by the promotion of God. What we possess in our circumstances, of the fruit of the Spirit, will generate a humility that will bless the Lord. In humility we are not open to the attack of the enemy. Humility guards our hearts in the beauty of God. Arrogance is the erroneous belief that because we have an anointing we are better than others. Lack of humility is our undoing. If no one can put us down, we do not have to prove ourselves. Therefore there is no need to be affronted, wounded or offended. In peace we let go of all things detrimental to us. Humility both annoys and defeats the enemy. When a hard heart comes into contact with humility it has the capacity to be softened. A soft answer turns away wrath. Humility and gentleness will always be powerful keys that bind the enemy and loose people. They are an excellent defense against our own pride and delusion.” ~Graham Cooke

I love how Cooke explains things. He always gives a great “Kingdom” perspective and doesn’t mince words. His insight on Humility is basic yet deep.

This is from his book:
Keys To Brilliant Focus
The Power of Wisdom to Reclaim Your Identity.
This was #33
The Wisdom Series Book 3.

He asks these questions at the end-

Look back over recent experiences where you have been embarrassed and humbled. What was your response in the aftermath? What preceded your humbling? What attitude and lifestyle were you displaying? Did you reap something because of your own actions? How will you cultivate humility in this next time frame? What price will you put on gentleness and kindness as a way of life?

What are your thoughts ?

How would you answer his questions?
