Find Your People

There will always be someone in this life who just doesn’t like you, no matter how hard you try to please them.

There will always be something that you say, or do, which causes offence or division. Whether you meant to or not.

There will always be someone who finds fault in you, your life or your words.

You may never find out why.

Please don’t waste your precious time trying to.

You can’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

Then there will be those who like you on impact.

A little fizz of energy that passes between you.

Silently, unseen, bonding.

Those people will not only like you but they will like you fiercely.

They are your people.

Whatever spare time you have, spend it on them.

You can’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can be someone’s first sip of a cold drink on a sunny day,

Or a warming hot chocolate when you come in from the rain.

Find your people, love them hard.❤

My Sisters Keeper

I am glad to see her

My sweet friend

My hearts friend

Her eyes are swollen

I give her a long hug, before

I take a seat

Pain visible in her eyes

She looks tired and tense

Vaguely smiling in my direction

She starts to talk

Her heart is heavy

She needs to unpack

I can taste her pain the more

she speaks

Her emotions flow over her lips

Her heart is torn

She starts to cry

Softly at first

Then sobs race through her body

Iike a dam that is overflowing

I let her be…..

I was her not too long ago….

I rub her hand, as I try to wipe

my own tears

I am one with her pain

I also walked through the valley

of the shadow of death not too long ago

Our stories may slightly differ….but pain

is pain however you look at it

You need your sisters forged in the

fire when you go through the fire….

To unpack your heart

To impart their wisdom

I know without a doubt she will rejoice

and laugh again

My life is proof that a faithful Father

really exists

In the meantime, I will cheer her on

Cry with her

Be her sister as she walks through

this trying season

Soon she will reach her destination.

I will be there to celebrate with her!

There is something enchanting, magical, supernatural, when women support and root for each other!

Hold On Pain Ends

Since I was a child I always wrote poetry as a way to process my pain. I stopped for many years and in 2006 I started again as I processed my brother Toby’s sudden death with a piece called An Unfinished Life.

These days I write many things – but rarely do I write much poetry anymore although I have such a deep love for it.

Today, I again wrote poetry to help me process my pain.

Hold On Pain Ends

The enemy will convince you

there is no hope.

That the restoration process is pointless.

It’s taking too long …

It’s too hard…

When will it ever end?

The mundane seems meaningless.

But the mundane is where the

miraculous is birthed.

The day in… the day out…

The baby steps

The big steps

Acts of obedience

Uncomfortable

The small

The big

One next choice

Made moment by moment to

Live. Breathe. Love. Keep Going. Forgive

Surrender to the process

Surrender to His will

Surrender to His timing

Trust not Toil

Rest not Resist

Wait not wail

Remain in His presence

Amidst the pain

That is the only place

for the pain to subside

No more

Numb

Confused

Questioning

Why?

Abiding not Answers is where it all lies

Hope is alway there…

Hope is the choice we must make

Hope is the method not the means

Hope is relying on His Grace

Hope Is His Saving Grace

HOPE…

Hold

On

Pain

Ends

The Power Of Grace

A lot of Christians would define grace as an unmerited gift, salvation, or the forgiveness of sins. These are all correct. Few believers, however, would identify grace as empowerment. Yet this is exactly how God has described His grace.

Let me show you 2 Corinthians 12:9:
“My grace is all you need, for my power works best in your weakness.” (TEV and NLT)

God refers to His grace as His empowerment! It’s the power at work in situations beyond our ability—including our attempts to be holy.

In 2 Peter 1:2–3, grace is again referred to as God’s power. This passage reveals another awesome truth. Every resource we need to live a holy life is available through the empowerment of grace!

How do we receive this power? By simply believing. Romans 5:2, along with many other New Testament passages, tells us we access God’s grace by faith.

So do you want to pursue holiness? Remember, it isn’t an end in itself. We embrace holiness so we can see and know God. If you want to grow in intimacy with Him, believe in the power of His grace. Ask Him to enable you to live in holiness and friendship with Him. You can be sure He will, for He is willing and able! Yes, keep in mind that God’s grace is a gift, it is salvation, it is forgiveness of our sins. But, hold onto and remember that God’s grace is God’s power that gives us the ability to do the things that we are not able to do in our own strength!

I Raised My Voice Against Hatred. It Was Easier Than I Thought It Would Be and It Felt Good. – By Carmelene Melanie Siani

A wonderful story! Please check out the kindness blog. ~XXOO Michelle Bollom

“They have the best Greek feta cheese you can get anywhere,” my husband said, pointing to the Middle Eastern grocery store around the corner from our house where he and his late wife used to shop all the time. “It comes from France.” Hm. Greek feta cheese from France. How enticing. “I’ll check it out,” […]

The Wick And The Wax Warning

Fanning the flames

They are fans

Not flames

Flames are friends

That love you

While fans

Keep you

Warm in your

Own self love

Friends will

Speak into your life

Fans will keep

The blades moving

Round and round

Till you’re so giddy and dizzy with

That chilly

Self importance

That you

Can’t see

What the flame

Warned you

Would come

Better hop

Off that pedestal

Of pretense

Insecurity thrives

On mans approval

While confidence

In Christ

Needs no vote

Or conniving

The wick

And the wax

Both needing a light

To burn

To be

Necessary.
