You Can Do Hard Things

Often we take on more than we can manage. But God says He never gives us more than we can handle.

We must stop wearing ourselves out by compulsive activity and busyness.

Everything will be more manageable when we stop trying to run the show and let God help us.

The only way we can do the hard things God gives us to do is in union with him.

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

A Wrinkle On Your Forehead

Yesterday is a wrinkle on your forehead…..

This is your life…
Are you who you want to be?
…..Is it everything you’ve dreamed it would be?

Today for Song Sunday we are going back a few years to a classic song by Switchfoot, This Is Your Life.

As you listen to the song and really hear the lyrics…. Ask yourself….

Are You Who You Want To Be?

Is life everything you dreamed it could be?

If not…… Then start making steps to change!

Yesterday is dead and over…..

Just a wrinkle on your forehead.

Make a plan now for a better tomorrow!

            ~ XXOO Michelle Bollom

Lyrics:

Yesterday is a wrinkle on your forehead

Yesterday is a promise that you’ve broken

Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes

This is your life and today is all you’ve got now
And today is all you’ll ever have

Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes

This is your life

Are you who you want to be?

This is your life

Are you who you want to be?

This is your life

Is it everything you’ve dreamed it would be

When the world was younger

And you had everything to lose?

Yesterday is a kid in the corner

Yesterday is dead and over

And this is your life

Are you who you want to be?

This is your life

Are you who you want to be?

This is your life

Is everything you’ve dreamed that it would be

When the world was younger

And you had everything to lose?

Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes

This is your life

Are you who you want to be?

This is your life

Are you who you want to be? Yeah
This is your life

Are you who you want to be, who you want to be? Yeah

This is your life

Are you who you want to be, who you want to be?

This is your life

Is it everything you dreamed that it would be

When the world was younger

And you had everything to lose?

You had everything to lose?

Faithfulness

The word that has been coming to my mind this week is… faithfulness. I was searching for verses and this one popped into my mind and heart:

Proverbs 28:20 A trustworthy person will receive many blessings, but one rushing to get rich will not go unpunished. (CJB)

This version uses the word, “trustworthy.”

The NIV says: A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

God is faithful… He takes care of us. BUT, He gave us the book of Proverbs for a reason. There are many pieces of GOLD in this book of wisdom.

When God gave Solomon the wisdom to write these nuggets of Truth down, we became the recipients of those pieces. If we can apply the actions that these verses tell us to do, we can walk in His blessings!

Deuteronomy 28 is all about blessings and curses. It’s a long chapter, but well worth the read. There are blessings for being obedient, which is being faithful, and being trustworthy!

Friends, God wants us to be faithful to Him. God wants us to be a person others trust. When we follow His ways, than the blessings flow. It sounds easy, but as we all know, application of Truth is not always a “walk in the park.” Sometimes we feel like we are out of breath running a marathon!

As we walk and do our best to be faithful, we always need to remember:

2 Corinthians 5:7 for we live by trust, not by what we see. (CJB)

For we live by faith, not by sight. (NIV)

Keep trusting… Keep the faith. Don’t lose heart. Don’t give up. He is with you… We may not see the end – yet – but we know that when we trust HIM with ALL our heart… HE will direct our path.

Shabbat Shalom,

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a US public holiday observed on the last Monday in May and often marks the beginning of summer.

Memorial Day’s meaning is to commemorate and pay tribute to soldiers who passed away while serving the military service- the Army, Air-force, Navy, SEALs, among other specialized units.

The holiday was formerly called Decoration Day because Americans decorate the graves of the fallen soldiers with flowers and American flags.

In honor of this day, the American flag is raised to half position until noon, to honor the departed souls. After 12 pm, the flag is hoisted to full staff as a reminder that the nation lives and the country will always honor the sacrifice of the soldiers by fighting for justice for all.

Thank you to all our soldiers for your service and sacrifices.
