We are now saved because Our Savior Jesus chose to leave the riches of heaven and come walk our sod. He left glory and power for a life of humility and service. He left sovereignty and majesty for obedience and obscurity. He left celestial pleasures for earthly hardship. He left fellowship with the holy ones for ministry to the lost and hurting. He relinquished intimate communion with his Father to take on himself the sin of the whole world.
We, too, have choices to make.
We can live lives of relative comfort and peace and safety by taking our salvation and burying it in our backyards and standing guard to make sure nobody steals it. We can ignore the dying world around us, leaving others to find their own way. We can skillfully avoid the messy business of finding and nurturing relationship with our brothers and sisters in the faith. We can leave the strenuous work of building the kingdom to those with degrees and salaries.
Alternatively, we can choose to take up our crosses and follow our master. We can forsake building castles in the sand and instead yoke ourselves to the one who is working incessantly to build mansions that will endure for eternity. Then, we will have a say in where we live, how many guest rooms we will need, and who we would like to have for neighbors. We will be co-architects in the design of our community centers and fellowship halls. We will be partners in business with the wise. We will spend our vacations exploring relationships with the mighty men of God. We will raise our children with the help of the holy women of God.
Stand firm in God’s promises for he does not waver. He is standing with you and he never moves away. He is your power and your strength. Lean in and not away, hold on tight, and do not lose sight of the hope he delivers.
The enemy will try to convince you that the only choice you have is to unravel before him. Don’t believe him. He comes to take everything you have to gain by choosing something different, God’s truth.
Remember there is much more. An abundant life awaits you. Reach for it. Step up and out of what’s comfortable so that you can grasp it. Praise be to the Glory of God once you find it.
Her very own leaders are rapacious lions, Her judges are rapacious timber wolves out every morning prowling for a fresh kill. Her prophets are out for what they can get. They’re opportunists—you can’t trust them. Her priests desecrate the Sanctuary. They use God’s law as a weapon to maim and kill souls.
Yet GOD remains righteous in her midst, untouched by the evil. He stays at it, day after day, meting out justice. At evening he’s still at it, strong as ever. But evil men and women, without conscience and without shame, persist in evil.” Zephaniah 3:4-5 MSG
~ Baring His Beauty,
King David opens up the beginning of Psalms with a mental image of two roadways, one leads to eternal life and the other one leads to eternal destruction.
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. ~ Psalm 1:1-6
Jesus used a similar metaphor:
“Enter through the narrow gate. For each gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.” -Matthew 7:13-14
How tragic that anyone should perish when Jesus left no question regarding how to inherit eternal life.
To inherit the gift of eternal life we must decide to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior from sin.
” I am the way, the truth, and no one comes to the Father except through me.”-John 14:6

If the truth sets you free then why do people get upset when the truth is told?
I have been reading in Jeremiah 42 and how the people begged and asked for a message from the Lord and they still chose not to obey it when they received it.
In Jeremiah 44 God is asking them- Why are you hurting yourselves continuing to worship idols- why do people make Me angry by making idols?
So as I was thinking on the above question regarding truth, here are my thoughts:
Maybe it’s because people want their own wills and ways. They would rather remain in bondage instead of choosing to be free.
Some get addicted to the attention of pity and a victim mentality so they will keep asking for truth from idols (other people) instead of seeking God.
They have no real intention of ever following it.
When people seek other people’s opinions or views as truth they get varying responses. Usually a watered down version that still feeds their egos and they like that and want more of that because it feeds into their neediness.
But when people do get an in your face obvious truth they will reject it and swallow the bait of offense instead.
They don’t like what they hear.
They can’t really handle the truth.
When we seek God and His truth- we only get One Truth- not one that feeds our egos.
The real truth is what people don’t like so much because they will have to act on it and make a choice to change their actions and behaviors.
Like picking up our own mat and get to steppin.
Before picking up that mat it first requires us to make a choice.
Will we leave our pity, victim mentality, egos and warped perceptions in order to pick up that mat?
I believe people reject the truth, get upset and instead seek their idols and remain in bondage because they aren’t willing to make the choice to change.
When you hear the truth you must act on it.
We are only as bound as we choose to be.
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” ~ John 5:8

We can choose to trust God or we can choose to trust in ourselves or others.
We can choose to stay stuck in the past and rehearse every hurt or we can choose to grab ahold of the great Promises for our future in Christ.
We can choose to live in doubt and unbelief and be tossed around by our unsteady emotions or we can choose to Agree, Believe, and Confess the Word of God over every situation.
We can choose to eat crap, over indulge in food, alcohol, smoke cigarettes or do drugs, lay around in bed or on the couch all day watching TV or playing with our gadgets online and continue to defile, vandalize, and destroy our temples or we can choose to altar our flesh and honor and respect our bodies as we should by no longer being a slave to our addictions and compulsions and instead choose healthy foods, habits and exercise.
We can choose to stay in a dead end job or relationship or we can choose to better and respect ourselves and make a change and give some people the much needed Gift of Goodbye.
We can choose to gripe, complain, and moan over our misfortunes or we can choose to praise God even when we are suffering and don’t understand or like what is happening.
We can Choose Blessings or we can Choose Curses….
But Guess what?
We get to choose
And you can’t choose both!
Stop saying – I don’t have a choice.
You always have a choice.
The choices you make may not be what God wants for you to make. God may have already told you what you need to do and you are still dragging your feet in disobedience.
We must tune in and turn to God. Read, hear and do what His word says. Get up and turn off the TV and all the other devices and voices trying to influence you so you can make sure you are choosing wisely.
Don’t just be hearers- be doers.
We are the choice we make.
You can either choose to
Or Give it all to God!
Look, you’ve got two choices: you can be blessed, or you can be cursed. If you obey His commands, which I’m giving you today, you’ll be blessed. If you don’t obey His commands—if you leave the path I’m showing you today so you can worship other gods who are foreign to you, then you’ll be cursed. ~ Deuteronomy 11:26-28 The VOICE
You must be doers of the word and not only hearers who mislead themselves. Those who hear but don’t do the word are like those who look at their faces in a mirror. They look at themselves, walk away, and immediately forget what they were like. But there are those who study the perfect law, the law of freedom, and continue to do it. They don’t listen and then forget, but they put it into practice in their lives. They will be blessed in whatever they do. James 1:22-25 CEB
Jesus looked at them intently, then said, “Without God, it is utterly impossible. But with God everything is possible.” ~ Mark 10:27

The Urban Dictionary defines “Pity Party” as:
A way of experiencing grief, in which you spend your time feeling sorry for yourself and whining endlessly about how crappy your life is.
Pity parties can be just for one or for many people, such as maybe your friends and close people, who will try to comfort you or just be there for you while you keep asking yourself what did you do to deserve whatever it is that made you so sad in the first place
Pity Parties require the proper outfit, which is usually pajamas cause you dont get all dressed up during those feeling-sorry-for-myself moments. Also you should have no make up on or just the one from the night before; hair undone as well.
It also involves tissues, comfort food such as ice cream; chocolate; potato chips; cookies; cake; and candy. Low fat food is banned
Alcohol might or might not be allowed (if alcohol makes you go wild, no alcohol should be brought to the pity party in that case since the point is not exactly to have fun).
The purpose of a Pity Party is to dumpt the pity.
Music is also very important at pity parties, including songs like “One is the Loneliest Number”, “All by Myself” and any other song that makes you feel like throwing yourself from the nearest cliff.
Pity parties usually end after you are done whining or if someone breaks it up. This will usually be a cynical loved one who will not let you drown in self pity and will take you either to have the best time ever, drinking and partying or will just make you crawl out of bed by making you see how pathetic you look and how you should cut the whining and just do something to make things better. ~Urban Dictionary
Although this is quite funny-A “Pity Party” is one party we should never attend.
As Momma Joyce Meyer says:
You can’t be pitiful and powerful at the same time. Choose what you want to be!
Thank You Lord that because of Christ I am free. Thank You for breaking every chain of bondage in my life. Thank You for Your Resurrection Power. Help me to choose to live by The Holy Spirit and obey You and Your ways over my flesh and my ways.

… instead using His own blood as the price to set us free once and for all. If that animal blood and the other rituals of purification were effective in cleaning up certain matters of our religion and behavior, think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out. Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God. ~ Hebrews 9:13-15 MSG
So you are no longer slaves but God’s children. Since you are God’s children, God has also made you heirs.~ Galatians 4:7 GWT
So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.~John 8:36 AMP
Worthy Thought: Most chronic diseases are choices diseases. We don’t catch them; we develop them by consistently choosing wrong foods. ~By Don Colbert, MD bestselling author “Let food be your Medicine”
“Whether therefore you eat and drink or whatsoever you do do all in the glory of God.”
(1 Corinthians 10:31)
“Do you know your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in which you have of God and you are not of your own.
( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
Apostle Paul calls the body “a temple of the Holy Spirit” and urges, “You are not your own . . . glorify God in your body.”
Honoring our bodies as sacred temples certainly includes eating healthy balanced foods that keep them functioning well.
While the Bible doesn’t prescribe any specific diet plan, it does highlight the principle of balance—between healthy restraint and enjoyment of rich foods.
In other words, make a habit of disciplined, healthy eating, but on occasion let yourself enjoy a feast of God’s good gifts. ~ Angela Lipe-Pattengill
