Fellowship

WORTHY THOUGHT: Do we lose our fellowship with God when we lose our character?

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness we lie and do not pratice in truth. but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His son, purifies us from all sin”. ( 1 John 1:5-6 )

God wants us to have an honest fellowship.

Fellowship is a matter of light or darkness.

“God is light” and His children should walk in light.

Light represents what is good, pure true, holy and reliable. Light exposes whatever exists good or bad. In the dark, good and bad look alike, but in the light they can be clearly distinguished.

Darkness represents what is sinful and evil. Darkness cannot exist in the presences of light, sin cannot exist in the presence of God.

A godly character cannot exist in darkness. If you lie to yourself, to God and to others you will lose fellowship.

We can begin our spiritual journey again by asking Jesus Christ for forgiveness, for him to guide our hearts, minds and change our ways. We rely on Jesus strength not our own.
That is when we will find our joy and we are Indeed back into fellowship with God to do His will and serve Him.

My prayer is that The God of peace rule in our hearts and for others to see in us a Godly character, showing His everlasting love to each one of us by sending His one and only son to die on the cross so we can begin our fellowship with Him. Amen.

Testimony

Worthy Thought:

The way we live is the testimony of what’s in our heart.

“We may think we are doing the right thing, but the LORD always knows what is in our hearts.” Proverbs 21:2 (CEV)

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV)

Smooth Traveling

Do you struggle with finding your words?
I know I certainly have.
I know you may be thinking, what?

The long winded run on sentence tell you the whole back story nitty gritty detail girl, has a problem finding words?

But yes, it is true.

What about telling the whole truth even with the risk of someone taking it wrong or fear of offending ?

God has been speaking to me that when I don’t “find my words” and speak anything less than the whole truth, that at the end of the day it is still a lie.

God even took me back to what I teach my children about lying:

It is never ever acceptable or necessary to lie.

God’s word specifically states -Do Not Lie.

Embellishing is also a lie.

There are no white or gray lies, no matter the color, they all are lies.

Not fib, no windy, no only joking, they are all still a lie.

Then He took me to two areas He dealt with me personally on over the years….

When answering the phone and pretending not to be you with a sales call ?

How many of us have done that before?

Newsflash: that’s a lie- dishonesty.

What about “courtesy falls” when in a prayer line?

How many have done that before?

God will slay you if He chooses, but courtesy falling is deception, which is still a lie.

So why was God bringing me back around to this lesson?
Because I was still being dishonest when I don’t tell my true opinions or reaction or feelings about something. I don’t have to offer it up when not asked, but when asked or God tells me to speak up, I better say the truth, the whole truth and not just what they want to hear.
God has been having me practice this and “find my words” lately as I have spoken some really hard words to people. God has honored my obedience to be truthful in all areas so He also thankfully prepared them to hear the truth, which was a huge relief.

(Some even said they wanted to punch me, but they knew it was the truth)

We don’t have to hurt someone’s feelings, but we can be honest and let them know we did not agree or like something when asked. If God is asking you to share something to help them, we must tell the whole truth.
For me, I may give you every detail before around and after it, but you can be sure that it is nothing but the whole truth.

I am no longer stuffing the hard words since I stopped stuffing my face.
I am finding my words. All my words.

As I have allowed God to guide and direct me through this fasting experience, He is showing me that I am to be guided by total honesty.

A good man is guided by his honesty; the evil man is destroyed by his dishonesty. ~Proverbs 11:3 TLB
Moral character makes for smooth traveling; an evil life is a hard life. Proverbs 11:5 MSG

Lord, let complete and total honesty always guide us. Please don’t let us be destroyed by dishonesty or deception or even embellishing the truth. May we find our words and even when not easy to still speak the whole truth in love. Build and develop our Moral character so we may have smooth traveling to do all You have called us to do. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Keeping It Real

Fruition
\frü-ˈi-shən\
noun

Fruition-
The state of bearing fruit.
attainment of anything desired; realization;accomplishment:
the state of being real or complete.

We all know the definition of “fruition” meaning attainment or accomplishment and that it is the state of bearing fruit, but I did not know that one definition is “the state of being real or complete”.

That part of the definition really stuck with me-
So Fruition means also “Keeping It Real!”

Now that is something we should all strive to do, and with this new definition discovery it had me thinking-or pondering a little deeper- or maybe just scratching my head- but anyway I wrote this down:
When we are keeping it real and we understand we are complete in Christ, we won’t feel the need to be putting on airs, operating in a false self or finding our worth in incomplete things.  People will know we are Christ’s disciples because our fruit will be good and recognizable when we are keeping it real.
Then I read these verses:

But you will recognize them by their fruits. You don’t find sweet, delicious grapes growing on thorny bushes, do you? You don’t find delectable figs growing in the midst of prickly thistles. 17 People and their lives are like trees.Good trees bear beautiful, tasty fruit, but bad trees bear ugly, bitter fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear ugly, bitter fruit; nor can a bad tree bear fruit that is beautiful and tasty. 19 And what happens to the rotten trees? They are cut down. They are used for firewood. 20 When a prophet comes to you and preaches this or that, look for his fruits: sweet or sour? rotten or ripe? ~Matthew 7:16-20The Voice (VOICE)

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” ~John 15:8

So my final thoughts on all this…
Let’s live the fruition definition by keeping it real friends, show ourselves as Christ’s disciples and be about bearing much good fruit.

50 Shades of Grey Happens

2015/01/img_0956.jpg

“Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters on February 14, 2015 this year. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to share this inspiring movie with your special someone. This movie is based on the best selling book, “Fifty Shades of Grey”. It perfectly demonstrates the true love that emerges between two people emotionally connecting all the while trying to find their ways in this world.

NOT!!!!

Hold it right there!!

Have I read this book??
NO!!

So! I’m really not the best one to give advice on a movie I haven’t seen or a book I have not read.
However, these facts I have read.

To be fair I’m not the expert. I’m just a mom who cares about our kids and this future generation. Hoping they will learn to connect with each other in healthy respectful ways.
Of course you can decide based on your own beliefs or lack of beliefs about the appropriateness of these books and future movies.

Facts:
-Junior high and high school girls are reading these series of books in huge numbers.(ages 12-18)

– Many Christian moms and grandmas are reading it and going on to read the next two books in the trilogy to complete the story without any moral discussion or objection (ages 19-90)

I learned this from Wikipedia:
The second and third volumes, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, were published in 2012. Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists around the world, including those of the United Kingdom and the United States. The series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and been translated into 52 languages, and set a record in the United Kingdom as the fastest-selling paperback of all time.

It’s spreading like wild fire!!

It has been penned, “Mommy porn” and is considered a forerunner in creating a new genre with the same name.

Changing the literary scene.

*The owner of the Damson Dane Hotel opted to replace all the Bibles in the hotel nightstands with Fifty Shades of Grey.

Making a spiritual statement

*Sales of duct tape, cable ties and rope at a hardware store skyrocketed after the books release in Pennsylvania thanks to the bondage scenes in the book.

Hardware stores profiting

*The author writes her sex scenes to music. She said, “I have songs that I write the sex scenes to. One of them is the Black Eyed Peas song ‘Sexy’ That is a very sexual song.

Music matters

*Sex toy sales went up drastically since the book came out. Sales of love beads or “smart or love balls” alone have went up 400% after Anastasia Steel enjoyed them in the book.

Nasty!!

*The books were developed from a Twilight fanfiction, originally titled Master of the Universe. James removed her fan-fiction from the various websites after comments were made about the sexual content concerning characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. After its removal, James rewrote and extended her story, making it an original trilogy.

Why it’s called “Twilight for Adults”.

*Fifty Shades of Grey has actually been banned from several libraries in the United States due to it’s graphic nature and not ‘meeting guidelines’.

Yippers!!

* These facts above were found on Sliptalk
21 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About “Fifty Shades Of Grey”

Let me introduce to you the theme that the movie is centered around.

S&M

I had to look it up to see what it stands for and means.

(I’ve been a little sheltered)

1: Sadism and Masochism

The practice of using pain as a sexual stimulant. Some variants of S&M include:

********
********
And so on…. A to Z.

Well, I’m not going to list what it includes. Honestly it’s just not appropriate. If I can’t say it around my teenagers without blushing that might be a clue. These are actually real activities that may appear innocent at first but lead to emotional, physical and spiritual bondage. They don’t call it bondage for nothing!!

The experimentation of S&M does not bring couples and marriages to a closer connection of intimacy and a respect for each other.
I am sure that even Dr. Phil would agree with me on this one.
This may be an issue of debate but remember I am choosing to see or not to see the movie based on my choice of what God’s Word says about the matter.

What does the Bible have to say?

I have no idea specifically so let me do some research.

Romans 12:10

10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Philippians 2:3

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Okay, seriously there are so many verses that discuss respect, honor and common sense of the do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Go for it!! You google it. I got enough with the first two.

The Golden Rule makes a good case for discussion.

How about just good common sense.

As I said earlier the movie centers on the theme of S&M. The main character Christian Grey (an interesting name for his character) is a incredibly successful and wealthy young entrepreneur who meets Anastasia. She is intrigued by his secret life and is drawn to him. Like many young ladies she finds herself falling for him and compromising her values and conscience to keep an on going relationship with him.

Analogy:
You don’t have to stick your head in a pile of 💩 to know that it really is poop.
Just take a sniff and let your senses be your guide.

I give Fifty Shades of 💩
Three thumbs down with a long pointy finger leading folks to:

Dissatisfied
Disrespected &
Disconnected

In my opinion, this is what you sign up for if you read or watch “Fifty Shades of 💩”.

Keep in mind the scripture verse below. Since we are dealing with a young fan base of readers and watchers, let’s take a look at the Message Version.

Philippians 4:8 The Message (MSG)

8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Would “50 Shades of Grey” meet the criteria above for things to think or ponder upon??

Important Headline:
Before we throw anybody under the bus who may have been involved in these activities or currently engage in them. Or perhaps out of curiosity read the books or watch the movie.
How about we have an open loving discussion with them.

It could go like this:

There really is no need to inflict pain on oneself or anyone else. Jesus paid it all on the cross. He took the whips, the beatings, the torture so we wouldn’t have to suffer here on this earth.

The enemy so brilliantly convinces people that pain will give them control over their struggles and shortcomings. A false relief that in reality brings more pain.
This is a lie some choose to believe. All one needs to break the lie is the truth. The truth sets us free!!

This verse in the Old Testament is speaking of our Messiah to come.

Isaiah 53:5
New Living Translation
“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”

The truth is Jesus came to set the captives free so we don’t have to reenact the captivity and bondage.
We actually have the capability to be set free from our sins and bondage by allowing Jesus to carry our sins to the cross for us.
It’s not necessary to read or watch the book or movie just to be innocently entertained, if you think it doesn’t affect you, I am sorry to say you are being deceived. I personally do not want the images, emotions or thoughts in my head related to such a dangerous slippery slope.

You decide whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are just and worthy ….think on these things.

Light On,
