Blessings Come By Trusting

“But blessed is the man who trusts me, GOD, the woman who sticks with GOD. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.”   ~Jeremiah 17:7-8 MSG

Reflection

“As in water face reflects face, So the heart of man reflects man.” – Proverbs 27:19 AMP

Today is a new day; it is the start to a new beginning of what can be.

May you be richly blessed while being an example that is holy, in HIS reflection, demonstrating the essence of the creator.

The Perils Of Unbelief

per·il

ˈperəl/

noun

plural noun: perils

1. Serious and immediate danger.

exposure to injury, loss, or destruction; grave risk; jeopardy; danger:

2. something that causes or may cause injury, loss, or destruction.

                The Perils Of Unbelief
Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart that turns away from the living God. But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” and there is an opportunity, so that none of you will be hardened into settled rebellion by the deceitfulness of sin (its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication.) For we believers have become partakers of Christ sharing in all that the Messiah has for us, if only we hold firm our newborn confidence which originally led us to Him until the end. ~ Hebrews 3:12-14 AMP

Lord, help me when the circumstances and questions I face seem so much more believable than You and Your promises.  Help me to build my faith with the ABC’s of Faith; to Agree, Believe, and Confess Your word over every situation that arises. Forgive me for not trusting and believing that Your Promises are always true. Thank you that I am a partaker of Christ, sharing in all that Jesus has for me.  I trust and believe, help me with any unbelief.

Small Surrenders

There seems to be a common thread that weaves its way through a life full of satisfaction and contentment. I almost had to say the “S” word!! It often stirs up a negative connotation or expectation of hardship or annoyance.

Surrender is the word. There I said it!!

I surrender!!

How many times do we throw up our hands and say, “I give up!” or “I’m finished”?
Or sing, “Throw you hands up on the air and wave them like you just don’t care!”.

It’s possible that we go all through life not wanting to surrender our rights, our opinions and our actions to those around us. We would never be caught surrendering. It’s a sign of weakness in our world of survival.

A simple definition of surrender means:

•to agree to stop fighting, hiding, resisting, etc., because you know that you can’t win or succeed

•to give control or use of (something) to someone else

•to allow something (such as a habit or desire) to influence or control you

Intransitive verb

to give oneself up into the power of another

I got to thinking about how many times I tried to control or fix a bad situation or circumstance all by myself. I would use my expertise, wisdom, opinions, research or just what I thought was best to solve a problem. Sometimes my problems were big problems…. like how to stop your daughter from having seizures and other times they were small like……getting your son to close his mouth when he chews his food!!

My point is I am slowly learning. It takes me a couple times around the mulberry bush to figure out that if I just let go and surrender the outcome. The end result usually ends up being much better then if I had kept my hand firmly gripped on the victim or the situation squeezing out anything that didn’t resemble my answer to the problem.

If we practice surrendering all along the way to the power of God rather than our own power we might get where we want to go at a faster speed.

Or perhaps the end result might be even better then we could ever imagine.

It’s a trust factor.

(to give oneself up into the power of another)

Do we trust God that He is capable of handling all our problems?
Do we think He knows what is best?
Do we really believe He is who He says He is?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

That about covers everything in our lives!!
The End!!!

Wish it were that easy!! It starts small everyday and grows bigger in every way. It’s a process.

Start today!!

Dear Lord,

I surrender or yield to your power and completely give up and forgo my opinion in exchange for your wisdom and understanding.

Help me acknowledge who you are to me and accept it as truth as I let go and let YOU be who YOU say YOU are to me!!!

White flag up in the air,

Pouring Out Our Story

I am as full of words as the speediest writer pouring out his story!

I poured out my fasting story – all 40 days of downloads. Today is #40!

I recently sent a version of my story and had it sent back to rework and edit for a feature spot on a dear friends blog. I know it needs to be done, it was just a rough cut. I just sort of poured out the story.

When I have to edit all the submissions to this blog, from all the stories pouring out, the editing is the not so fun part.

Even editing my own stuff is not fun.

I was invited to do a recorded television spot for our local TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) on how TBN has impacted my life. The first take seemed effortless. God spoke through me and they cheered and then the retake…..

I am a swayer when I talk so they wanted a second go round. That retake did not feel as smooth.
I know It is all up to God. They will send it on and will notify me if they decide to air it or use it.

I just poured out my story.

All these recent things on pouring out our stories and words….
Words

Ugh!

God is always dealing with me on my words.
To speak up and use them or to shut up or choose fewer words.

I love how the verse says, my heart is overflowing with a beautiful thought.

That is usually how it starts. I have a beautiful thought and then I sometimes just get it out and am done, but most of the time we have to edit or do a retake. I love how God speaks to my heart through His word.
I am so so with poetry, but I am for sure full of words!

We all have a beautiful story- our testimony. We may just have a beautiful thought, but God will weave the rest of it out for His Glory.

Trust Him with it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You always can edit or a retake if you need to.
Just begin by pouring out your story!

This is the beautiful final verse in my fasting experience downloads and it couldn’t be more fitting.

My heart is overflowing with a beautiful thought! I will write a lovely poem to the King, for I am as full of words as the speediest writer pouring out his story. You are the fairest of all;Your words are filled with grace;God himself is blessing you forever.  ~ Psalm 45:1-2 TLB

Be blessed everyone!
Thank you for coming on this journey with me.

Travelled So Far

Great encouragement today from The Bottom Of A Bottle Blog.   Enjoy! XXOO Michelle Bollom

Travelled So Far (Proverbs 30:5) Days become harder Our thoughts become clouded The stresses of life Lay a heavy burden Upon our fragile souls Our feet so tired We’ve travelled so far Now it feels we can’t go on Yet there is a place Our tired feet can call home The Father’s arms Our refuge […]

Rock-Firm And Faithful

“You’re all I want in heaven! You’re all I want on earth!

When my skin sags and my bones get brittle,

GOD is rock-firm and faithful.

Look! Those who left you are falling apart!

Deserters, they’ll never be heard from again.

But I’m in the very presence of GOD — oh, how refreshing it is!

I’ve made Lord GOD my home.
GOD, I’m telling the world what you do!”

‭‭ ~Psalm‬ ‭73:25-28‬ ‭MSG‬‬

When I was not walking with God, I really was falling apart. When we stick with God and learn to stay in His presence, it is refreshing to know He is always Rock-Firm and faithful. He is the Great Restorer! We will want to tell the world what He can do.

We believe that with Real People, sharing Real Stories, it can bring Real Healing to others.

We would love to feature how God has Restored you with others.

All The Time

Now God has us where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all His idea, and all His work. All we do is trust Him enough to let Him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. ~Ephesians 2:8-10The Message (MSG)

Enjoy The Ride

The bumps in the road can sometimes feel too much. Our shocks may be starting to wear out and the ride seems to be getting rougher than normal. They may even be in desperate need of repair before we bottom out.

The Master Traveler; God, knows the bumps before we do. If we allow Him to navigate and steer- He can avoid the bumps or protect us as we travel on those hard worn or stormy paths.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
This beautiful journey called life will always have unexpected twists and turns. Learn to get excited about the bumps like when you were a kid. Even when you can’t see the road, He knows just the right path to take. The bumps that shake and toss things around may actually be needed for things to be resettled and put back in God’s order.

                                  ~XXOO Michelle Bollom

He makes me whole again, steering me off worn, hard paths to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name.                                      ~ Psalm 23:3 The VOICE

Bound

But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life]. ~ Romans 7:6 AMP

Hallelujah!
Christ frees us from the law to which we were bound, but not to do as we please. We’re freed from the law so that we can now be bound to God in the newness of the Spirit.
