“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 ESV
Why do we worry when the Lord is with us? Why do we get so frustrated in practical issues when we know a God who is higher and above all things? Why do we feel alone in our darkest moments when all we have to do is call out to our Saviour? And why do we allow our experiences to supersede God’s promises?
I wonder if Joshua felt alone when Moses died? I wonder if he felt the pressure to continue in Moses’s footsteps? Did Joshua struggle with knowing how things would end up? Did he worry about how everyone would remain on the journey towards the blessings God had for them?
God knew the plans he had for Joshua and his people. He understood the direction they were going. The Lord wanted them to understand and trust him. In the same way, he wants us to believe that he does fulfill his promises. No matter what you might be experiencing today, don’t lose sight of God. Our Heavenly Father is with you right where you are, and he will not leave you.
Be blessed in Jesus today.
