One Lost Soul

Running away

from Your holy presence

The story of my life

I would not listen

to Your voice

drawing me in

Calling me to come closer

Begging me to not let the enemy in

Sin drew me in

Her enticing speech

caused me to yield

The strong man I once was

descending now to death

The enemy showed me the beginning

Withholding the end of my destination

I did not give ear to the voices

trying to warn me

What would they know?

Life is too short

It is all about my flesh and fantasies

I was made for so much more

than the mediocre life I live

Normal is not for me

That is what her lips

made me believe

The road less travelled I will forego

She told me I was made for greater things

That my current life is but a waste

I believed her lies

Ignoring what was important

I chose to pay a very high price

For momentarily things

My selfishness setting me

on a path of destruction

I was captivated by her beauty

Her smooth lips drew me in

The warning signs went off

but I was caught in her web

Her lips smoother than oil

Told me this path

would lead to life

Like a lamb led to be slaughtered

I willingly obey

She made sin look so appealing

I took her lies for truth

Wisdom and instruction

hidden far away

My pride made all the rules

I did not know eventually

her feet go down to death

Her door would lead me

straight to hell

Oh how I have hated instruction

The pictures she painted

of happiness and wealth

Put me in a trance

I had lots of cheerleaders

encouraging me to sin

While proclaiming they know God

Living double lives of compromise

How could I be so dumb?

Will I ever recover my losses

Will I ever regain my name

Far from God

in the pigpen

I awaken out of this trance

I never thought that sin

would bring me to this place

Ashamed, alone

the voices of my encouragers

now grew still

Where is all the promises

of glitter and gold?

All my fantasies

went down the drain

The grass that looked so green

Eventually grew pale

Oh how I have hated instruction!

I have lost my pride and integrity

On the verge of total ruin

I gave my years away

to the cruel one

Precious time

down the drain

I don’t have much to say

Life was all about me

How selfish I have been

My needs and wants important

Mammon became my god

With Jezebel my queen

Leading me further and further astray

Gone the man I once have been

God brought me to my knees

The scales fell off my eyes

My life flashed like a nightmare

I could not continue in sin

The enemy lost his hold

Running away from His light

my biggest regret

Many were praying for God

to open my eyes

I will forever be grateful

To a God who is always

in search of me

Although the stench

of the pigpen clings to me

His love looks past my sin

and sees my brokenness

His love pursues

and heals my heart

His love erases my sinful past

I will run back to my Father

Repent and embrace His grace

His love will transform me

into the son

He created me to be

He is still the God

who will leave the ninety nine

In search of one lost soul.

The Journey

Tell Him

“How did it take me 20 years of listening to this album to realize this song is about Christ?!?”

This was the text I received from my niece Myranda so after listening I believe it is perfect for this weeks Song Sunday.

Tell Him by Lauryn Hill.

Video has lyrics. Enjoy!

Restoration Stories – Gina Guy Warren

When I was a young girl, I remember my father beating me so badly with one arm on the steering wheel and the other smashing into my chest in the passenger seat of the car. Apparently the car was swerving, so a police officer pulled us over. He asked if all was ok, and I attempted to speak as loudly as i could with my eyes. I needed help but the officer was won over by my fathers poised response. He had a rebellious daughter and he was handling it.

This was my everyday growing up. Two parents who didn’t know how to handle their daughter who was crying out from sexual abuse of another Christian, church going family member, but no one heard the cry nor did anyone want to get involved. All family members knew, and were also aware of the radical physical abuse I would receive once in the four walls of my home.

I married at 22 years old to a man 15 years older. I married my father without even realizing it. Because I never healed from my abuse before getting married, I entered into the same spirit that abused me. I never felt safe within the marriage of a porn addicted Pastor, who inwardly hated me, but I remained faithful as a Christian woman and fought the spiritual fight for 16 years.

My Pain drove me to Jesus literally every hour. I grew, saw Jesus face to face and received my healing all while in this marriage. I faced my accuser which cost me my entire family. Each one, including my brothers and my own parents never spoke to me again nor ever met my daughters. The Cost was great, the healing divine, and the voice of the Groom spoke to this bride daily. A real God, with Real Hope.

It was not easy working through it all and breaking EVERY soul tie I bound myself to but while i was single for 8 years, But i did the work because I KNEW there was a man on this planet for me because I saw HIM in the eyes and heart of Jesus everyday in my prayer closet. (My ex was ordained as a pastor, went from church to church tearing me down, then died of cancer. I moved him into My home 4 years after we divorced to care for him during hospice. It’s what Jesus would do. LOVE unselfishly. He ended up accusing me of attempted murder of which never was I charged. Allegations dismissed)

I Rarely EVER tell any of my stories of which this is only ONE.

TODAY IS MY 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY.

Some may find this to be an odd way to celebrate but oh, to the contrary.

May whoever reads this Brief glimpse of my story be filled with HOPE. Facing our pain and effects of trauma and abuse will never be pleasant…ever. But the rewards are beyond what you can imagine

All those years I sought the face of God. Not His hands but His face. He told me there would come a man who was pure. Nothing like the men who protected me not, even in the church they turned a blind eye. But God.

He sent me Brian Warren . Pure. Fearless. Honorable. One worthy to be called husband, Pastor, Protector. God healed my broken soul ( mind will emotions) and when the healing came in full, Brian arrived.

I want everyone to know your pain has purpose. I know God is restoring the Faith and the Body of His beloved Bride. Whatever has been stolen from you, 100fold return is in your future. It may require you to face that which is painful, many will leave and not believe you, expose evil, and make decisions that are out of your comfort zone.

Never tolerate mediocrity! Don’t live with an OK marriage. Do something about it! Pray. Focus. Love until you have nothing more to Give! God will remove your abusers or Heal and Restore! Just don’t stay the same. It’s dangerous! He’s the Bride of restoration. He will heal and restore every broken relationship. If they choose Not, just choose Jesus. Keep your focus. You and Him!

I’m a LIVING, whole and Healed testimony that True love exists. Fairytales do exists. Don’t become bitter ladies. Rise up out of the ashes. Look what God can do!

I’m in Love. I’m at Peace. I am whole. When you find this place in God, LOVE finds you.

I’ve been found. I love you Brian Mrunbreakable Warren ❤️❤️. You’re a GOOD man. A true Leader. An example to all men and women. To the Church!! You’re hope to the hopeless. Defender of the weak. I thank God for the 3 years this far. Together we overcome what many marriages wouldn’t and don’t survive because we are ONE and God Himself joined us. It’s impossible to tear apart what God put together. What soul ties, sex and flesh put together, it can and will be torn apart. What GOD joins cannot be broken. He is able to keep what He joins.

Hope Hope Hope. Believe for the best. You are God’s best! You are a reflection of Him! To deny you would be to deny Himself. Impossible.

May Love find you this year in ALL your relationships. First may the marriage reflect how Jesus feels about His church! He’s come to heal! Oh won’t He do it! If He did it for The WARrens, He will do it for you!

The Final Word

“Away from me, Satan!  For it is written, ‘Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall you serve.”

This was Christ’s answer to Satan’s third and final attempt to throw him off course and derail his ministry.

One can only speak so boldly to the adversary after passing the test. If we are still wavering in our convictions and speak half-heartedly to the enemy, he can easily ignore us, and there is not a thing we can do about it.

So, where does such boldness and single mindedness come from? How does one muster up the courage to stand toe to toe with hell and walk away victorious?

It is only by keeping our spiritual eyes firmly fixed on Christ and our spiritual ears tuned to his voice that we are equipped in the battle to send darkness fleeing. Satan is not scared of us, but he is terrified of Jesus. Jesus called Satan’s bluff, was obedient unto death, and disarmed the enemy, taking away the power of death. As it is written, “He destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to life through the gospel”, also, “Through death he defeated him who had the power of death”, and finally, “I (Jesus) control death and hell.”

Where did David get the strength to face down Goliath? Where did Samson get the strength to defeat the Phillistines? Where does anyone obtain the courage to face overwhelming odds?

Our fear of God must drive out all lesser fears.  Like Christ, we must “delight ourselves in the fear of the Lord”.  As it is written, “To this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite in spirit and who trembles at my word.” Also, “The eyes of the Lord roam to and fro on the earth to find them whose hearts are perfect toward him, to show himself powerful on their behalf.”

Those who pursue God on his terms will regret not a single day, hour, minute, or second of their lives and will have the privilege of calling God their friend and the joy of having God call them his friends!

The Strength Of Samson

Samson was called by God, and he was a mighty warrior and deliverer for Israel. He had super human strength and was undefeatable in battle. That is, until he compromised his source of strength – his dedication to God. He put his trust in the wrong place and he lost everything.

Likewise, we, as Christians, can be mighty warriors for Christ, overcoming the odds and bringing great deliverance to our world. That is, as long as we remember the source of our strength – our devotion to Christ. Our enemy is not shaken by our strength and might. Alone, we are easily overcome.

However, when we wait on the Lord and move in the power of the Holy Spirit, we are unstoppable. As it is written: “Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord.”

Let us always remember that the Lord is no respecter of persons. When we fear him, trust him, and obey him, we will do mighty exploits for him. When we compromise our faith by following after the world, we quickly lose our power and anointing.

We are to be single mindedly devoted to serving and pleasing Our Father, by yielding our lives to Christ, for him to live through us. As he taught, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If I abide in you, and you abide in me, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” As it is written, “We can do all things through Christ, who gives us strength.”

Thirsty Soul

I was reflecting on a conversation I had with a woman who was vulnerable enough to share some of her traumatic experiences with me. I was reminded how much damage the enemy can cause from deception. More so, my heart ached because it didn’t seem that this woman could move out from under his lies.

I thought about the woman at the well. We don’t know her by name, but many of us are familiar with her story. She was having a relationship with many men. After traveling, Jesus stopped to rest. He saw the woman and asked her for a drink. She responded saying, “I am a Samaritan woman, how could you ask me for a drink?” She understood that Jews didn’t talk to “Samaritans,” nor did they stop to talk with a woman without her husband there. Later, Jesus understood her sin, even calling it out, and yet he didn’t condemn her for it. He was interested in something more significant than her crime. She was missing out on eternal life with our Father.

Sometimes we live our lives like this. We get caught in the areas of life that produce unpredictable feelings. Our emotions consume us, and it becomes impossible to maneuver around them. The enemy plants seeds of doubt, convincing us to plant his lies in our hearts. We become blinded, unable to see the good that is around us and the abundant life God had intended for us.

At one point in the story, Jesus said, “If you only knew.” He understood her, and he knew her. She had been trying to satisfy her thirst with men. However, they never did quench it, and she was tired of traveling back to the well over and over again. Jesus invited the woman to learn something new. Our Father is the wellspring of life. Outside of Him, there is no fulfillment; In Him, we thirst no more.

Lord, teach me your truth and your ways. I long daily to understand the direction that you want to take me in. I will wait for you. Help me to know that when I am thirsty, you are there to fulfill my every need. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.~Psalm 25:5 ESV

Baring His Beauty,

Perfecting Our Faith

In oceans deep

Papa builds our faith

Through roaring waves

He navigates us

to His perfect peace

In our darkest nights

He is our light

He holds on to us

Through every fight

Love has its way

in every challenge

He is perfecting our faith

Strengthening our bond

Deepening our walk

Every day He is writing

our love story

A story of unwavering faith

Every challenge

pain and dark time

He uses for His glory

When we surrender

and rest in Him

He leads us to quiet waters

Green pastures will be our resting place

While Papa draws us

into His heart

To see the bigger picture

of His amazing love

He is building our faith

through each stumbling block

He makes us fearless

When waves crashes over us

We learn to focus our eyes

On our Father who knows best

The pictures the enemy paints

Won’t hold our gaze

The longer we walk with Papa

We look through eyes of faith

When all hell breaks loose

We trust in Him

Knowing that in every battle

He is in our midst

Training us to war

Training us to win

Our faith reaches depths

Never known to us before

He takes us to places

We never thought we would visit

Our faith take us higher

in Him

Till we just let go

and run with Him

into the unknown

He teaches and guides us

Till we pass our tests

Following Him blindly

For He knows best

While fear is still lurking

Challenges are still real

Warfare all around us

trying to numb us

We find our resting place

In the middle of storms

We know with one command

He calms every raging storm

He uses our challenges

To have His way in our lives

To show us how strong

we really are

While we want to cringe

and wish it away

He knows that we are capable

of overcoming every challenge

and obstacle coming our way

We were created to go above

what is the norm

With Him there

to show us the way

Till the impossible scare us

no more

With mountain moving faith

We do not retreat

We are lost in His dreams

We know no defeat

We step out and carry

His brave heart

Wherever we go

Believing only

what He declares over us

He is our anchor

The One we hold on to

Fear has lost its place

We look to the One

Who makes every

rough road smooth

The author and finisher

of our faith

Out of the ashes we will rise

His sons and His daughters

With mountain moving faith

To run our races

With love and humility

With character and integrity

Trusting Papa with our every breath

Our faith walk brought us

into Papa’s perfect rest.

Perfecting Our Faith

The Journey

Peace And Rest

We know the classic epitaph phrase, “Rest in Peace.”  We may never appreciate this blessing until we have been through the fire and the water, until we have faced down hell and it’s minions, until we have lived through the war.

Peace and rest are only valuable to those who have fought the good fight of faith, have overcome restlessness and strife, and have triumphed over the enemy.

As it is written, “They overcame him by the word of their testimony, the blood of the lamb, and they did not love their lives unto death.”

Why does it have to be this way?

Why can’t life be restful and peaceful always?

I suppose we must all learn the art of war in order to appreciate the ways of peace.

Those who go AWOL in order to find peace are often disappointed.  We must stay with the troops, we must make our stand, we must fight, and we must win.

It is the inevitable consequence of living in a fallen world.  God writes through Isaiah, “If only you had paid attention, your peace would have been like a river.”  Earlier, he wrote about Jesus, calling him, “The Prince of Peace.”

Lord, help us to learn how closely you want us to walk with you,  how safe we are in your presence, and how much peace and rest we will enjoy forever as we learn to overcome all temptations and trials by your mercy and grace.  Amen.
