Compelled By Love

So when Jesus landed he had a huge crowd waiting for him. Seeing so many people, his heart was deeply moved with compassion toward them, so he healed all the sick who were in the crowd. ~Matthew 14:14 TPT (The Passion Translation)

Christ’s Love Compels Us! ~2 Corinthians 5:14

Christ’s love compels us to move in compassion and never in criticism.

Freedom Is On The Other Side

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Shame, guilt, regret, you name it, we have all felt it. A little whisper of doubt, an uncertain look from someone we don’t know, a terrible choice we made, an offensive action caused by someone else, most of these have been familiar to you and me.

Isn’t it always interesting how the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy? He doesn’t want us to experience the life that Jesus came to deliver. Consequently, he can tear down the best of us, even when we are trying to be intentional in God’s will and purpose for our life.

That is how the enemy works. He comes to take away the good that God is doing in our life. He comes to belittle us and steal any opportunity of freedom that Jesus gave so that we could be free. However, his power is by far limited in comparison to the power that we have in Christ. What if we chose to stand firm, remembering the price that was paid to live a life entirely unburdened by slavery?

Thank you, Jesus, for paying the ultimate price for freedom. May we stand firm in your sacrifice, holy and pleasing to your eyes. In your precious name, Amen.

Deep Calls Unto Deep

Walking this road of separation and seclusion

I got used to the stripping and pruning

Used to fires burning the dross away

Used to the cutting away of my ways

of doing things

Used to dying daily

My dreams were put on the shelf

This journey needed my full attention

I couldn’t swerve out to visit my past

I couldn’t swerve out to feel sorry for myself

Time was valuable

Lessons had to be learned

Tests had to be passed

Further and further

I walked away from the ghosts of my past

Religion no more

My hiding place

I yearned for deeper things

Locked in heaven

Pursued by few

Painful seasons

A mere memory now

Of lessons learned

For I found that I could do without many things

But I could never do without Papa in my life

The things of this world really grows dim

The longer we walk with Papa by our side

It’s in our struggles and heartbreak and losses and dark nights

That Papa becomes our closest friend

We start our journey trusting

that Papa will be true to His word

Yet when time draws near

to the fulfilment of His promises

We realise that every “yes” on our journey

Led us straight into Papa’s heart

The place where He wanted us all along

A place where we are mesmerised by only Him

Where we are lost to this world

and what it has to offer

A place where deep calls unto deep

And Papa directs our every move

Here He turns our mourning into dancing

Our pain into unexplainable joy

Our hopelessness into water walking faith

We know how immensely we are loved

By the One named Love

From this place

We live

We move

We abide in Him

Everything is now complete

just by knowing Him.

Deep Calls Unto Deep

The Journey

This secular song gets me to groovin.

I read a great article about this latest album and the lead singer of Imagine Dragons coming out of a dark depression. Their album Evolve is pretty good and the track Thunder is this weeks #SongSunday.

A Way In The New

When it comes to starting something new, it can be exciting. It can also feel scary. Personally, a fresh beginning always seems to come to mind. I think about all of the things that I want to do but haven’t. I also start to evaluate the areas of my life that could benefit from being changed, however, lacked the motivation to create it.

I also think about the heart of God, and what it must have been like when Adam and Eve went against everything that God made perfect in the garden. What did God think when everything he made complete was exchanged for imperfection?

I can’t imagine what it was like for him. However, I am thankful that God didn’t give up just because Adam and Eve did. He didn’t scratch the human existence because of their mistake.

God created a new way to continue a relationship with him. He started over, providing something new. I don’t know what you are experiencing in your life. Maybe you are like me and want to start something for the first time, or over. Perhaps you have something that you wish you could forget, something you regret doing, Jesus knows. He will make a way when there seems that one isn’t possible. Trust, believe, be expectant for great things this year.

Jesus, I am thankful for the opportunity to start over, and try again. Thank you for your love that has no limit or boundary line. As this new year starts, I ask that you continue to keep us comforted by your words and promises. In Jesus name, amen.

Welcome 2018 – Happy New Year!
