Inspect The Fruit

Last week I engaged, entertained, and even initiated gossip
Not on one occasion – but two!

As I was releasing the days “Junk” I felt my heart pinged to repent. I did quickly and went to bed. On the 2nd time that week of releasing the days “Junk” and again asking God to forgive me for gossip-I had a very vivid dream.
It was scary and weird and my first thought – What in the world did I eat before bed?

But I knew God was saying to go look it all up.
Right there on the pages it listed Gossip
It also listed some other things that were warnings and things that I knew God had already been speaking to me about some situations and relationships …right there at the end it listed “religious unfruitful spirit”.
I was gossiping about someone that I felt had a religious unfruitful spirit!

We had talked last week in our Matthew Study and someone shared we are to “Inspect”  the fruit – but be careful not to “judge” the fruit of others.

Matthew 7:20 –When a prophet comes to you and preaches this or that, look for his fruits: sweet or sour? rotten or ripe?

As I was in my (PRAY) time

 Praising – Repenting – Asking – Yielding
And thinking on this very vivid dream and the meaning of it ….
This is what God laid on my heart…..

Yes- Inspect The Fruit – not everyone has the real fruit. Just like those big bowls of fake fruit – many look very very real – but they aren’t!

You can’t eat it! It won’t grow or multiply.

It won’t help or feed anyone.

But –Don’t be quick to judge someone’s fruit – even if it appears rotten to the core and you know first hand how rotten it is-because we have no right to judge it- that job is solely God’s and God’s alone- we can all retire from the Holy Ghost Junior position. God doesn’t need our help in the judging department.

Now back to Gossip-even when things or situations are 💯 % TRUE – sharing them, entertaining them, engaging in them is still Gossip.
               Gossip bears no fruit!
Does that mean that you don’t take caution about a situation or someone that you have inspected and found their fruit to be less than stellar – ( a religious unfruitful spirit ) No!

You can separate yourself from people and situations that God has revealed that their bowl of fruit is of the fake and plastic variety -that just sits pretty in a bowl.

Remember a bad piece of fruit can quickly spoils the whole bowl!
You can set good boundaries and not ever tell a sole what you have inspected.

You can take every hurtful, messed up thing they said or did to you to God-and no one else. Vent it Vertically!

If someone starts to share with you that the same person that did you dirty has also did them dirty too – you can choose not to engage or join in and use that as an opportunity to pray.

Lord, ping our hearts every time we want to rehearse the hurts or vent about others with each other instead of venting it vertically to You. Help us to bear good and ripe fruit. Forgive us for gossip and judging others. Help us to set good boundaries to protect us from the bad fruit that tried to spoil our fruit. Give us wisdom and reveal to us anything that is hidden. Divinely connect us with those good fruit bearers to help develop and keep our fruit mature and good.

But you will recognize them by their fruits. You don’t find sweet, delicious grapes growing on thorny bushes, do you? You don’t find delectable figs growing in the midst of prickly thistles. People and their lives are like trees. Good trees bear beautiful, tasty fruit, but bad trees bear ugly, bitter fruit. A good tree cannot bear ugly, bitter fruit; nor can a bad tree bear fruit that is beautiful and tasty. And what happens to the rotten trees? They are cut down. They are used for firewood. When a prophet comes to you and preaches this or that, look for his fruits: sweet or sour? rotten or ripe? -Matthew 7:16-20 VOICE
