Our physical health is susceptible to disease and injury, but we need our faith to sustain through these tough times. Physical exercise is important but spiritual exercise is more essential. Both discipline and devotion are needed to make you effective as a healthy Christian.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for the both present life and the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:8)
Stop being a gambler with your health, and instead be an investor to take care of your body, mind, and spirit. -Joyce Meyer
I believe this statement Joyce Meyer said is to take care of your physical body and your spirit body. Your Spirit body is the temple where the Holy Spirit resides.
Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s spirit dwells in your midst? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Paul also wrote; Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? Your are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.(1 Corinthians 6:20)
We never outgrow the nourishing milk of the Word (1 Peter 2:2)
But we cannot grow physically unless we also have solid healthy food, eating and exercising; it takes both.
So wether you eat and drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
We all know the more fit and healthy we are the more we be better able to sustain ourselves for the long haul. God needs us to be spiritually healthy to be a good witness.
God cares about our fitness so we can be a good witness!
