Deeper Things

Don’t be afraid of the rising tide or fearful of going deeper. We must stop living a shaky and shallow existence. We must move into our purposes steadily and deeply. Begin to take steps of faith. Get your feet wet. With each step He calls you to take into the rising waters relax and feel the water lift you and effortlessly carry you along. With each obedient step you will rise above and will no longer be fighting the currents. Rest in the flow and rhythm of the Holy Spirit. You will not drown. Trust in the One calling you to deeper things.

Winning The Race

Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out before us. Hebrews 12:1 NIV

Last year, while on vacation at the beach, I recall watching my son race toward the shore just a half-step ahead of the waves that crashed behind him. Then he would turn and go back out toward the ocean, as far out as he could, chasing the water as it was pulled from the land. There he would stand and watch, with great joy, for the next wave which would pursue him back toward me.

The perseverance on his face entertained me, with a sweet delight, as I watched him outrun the ocean’s embrace.

He was completely consumed while demonstrating the innermost thrill of a little boy. Little did he know that he had captured my heart, and he seemed oblivious to my desire for him to win. He competed against the rolling waves for hours. His goal was to beat the ocean before it beat him.

A confident heart allowed him to run again and again to drier areas of safety. Not even for a moment, did he look back with doubt, question or fear. There was no hindrances that he couldn’t run around or jump over. He was truly invincible.

Knowing that he could win, against the thunderous waters, compelled him to race again and again.

Life is a lot like this as we compete against the obstacles in it. By choosing faith and acting in it, we gain a power within. We can run life’s race with confidence and finish it well. If we throw off the things that hinder us we can persevere toward the goal that is before us. We can live invincible in Jesus.

The best part of it all is that our Heavenly Father is watching. He experiences the faith that we have in Him and He delights in us. He helps us achieve the goals He sets before us. This is all done because of his love for us and His desire for us to win.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We praise you for being our biggest cheerleader and we thank you for loving us more than what we are capable of understanding.

In Jesus name, amen

Like A Bridge Over Troubled Water

I have to say I don’t look forward to Father’s Day because it makes me miss my own Daddy so much. He went to his Forever Home with Jesus in 2008.

I miss him like crazy!
I was such a big ole Daddy’s Girl!
Come to think of it- I am still a big ole Daddy’s Girl!

My daddy was so funny and creative and boy he was a storyteller. I could listen to his stories all day long. We were so very close and spoke on the phone daily if not multiple times a day.

My daddy was a music lover. All types of music he loved. That is where I got my love for all music too. He was also a musician, he played a mean cornet – similar to the trumpet. He played in a band like the Blues Brothers before the popular movie was even around.

One of his all time favorite songs was Simon & Garfunkel’s – Bridge Over Troubled Water.

He would play it and sing along.

I loved to jam out with him to this song!

I have a hard time hearing it now without crying since it was played at his funeral and just makes me miss him too much.

I did not know that in this song the duo is singing about a father guiding his offspring through the opening steps of life, explaining that any obstacles they face will be dealt with together.

So today- in honor of All Father’s.
Past, Present & Future; this is a perfect Father’s Day Song.

Actually it’s a perfect any day song when you look at it from our Heavenly Father’s perspective to us.

I love at 3:20 in the video-

Sail On Silver Girl!

I always think of my daddy-well now both my daddy’s in Heaven, singing this over me.

Happy Father’s Day!

Fix Me

Turning to everything but God

We wonder why our lives are fragmented;

Lost thoughts fill the mind with tides taking

Us down into the gravitating depths of the night

That removes our sight, causing us to stumble

In the moment we cannot afford to lose;

We must return to the only One who can save,

Be patient and wait for His timing to unfold

As our inner complications become gold

Found within ourselves, beneath all the dirt;

He is waiting for us to turn back and trust

In His plan and purpose for our lives,

For only He alone can fill the void within;

His words of truth will bleed

Through lies believed, clinging to the mind;

He will remove the toxicity,

Replacing it with His living Word,

Causing the demons to flee in the name of Jesus,

The only One who can save us

And heal the profound pain inside

Our empty, failing hearts waiting to beat again

Identity Theft

Who are you? Where do you come from? When were you born? Who is your Father? What’s your identity?
identity :condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is; the qualities, beliefs, etc., that distinguish or identify a person or thing:
This is the TRUTH of the matter of identity.

Sins or sins done against us affect how we identity ourselves in this world. We unknowingly walk around wearing a garment of uncleanliness and despair after we have passed through the things that can so easily beset us. We dress ourselves in a cloak of deception as we walk away from our sin that entangled us into a prison of guilt or shame. We often times engage in things that later bring regret and remorse. Worse case, something was done against us willing or unwillingly in a moment of confusion or fear. It could have happened yesterday or twenty years ago. It doesn’t matter it follows us around like a dark shadow. It disappears during seasons of great days, weeks or years. We forget and think we have been dealt a bad deck of cards handed over to us. The stain of shame smears its stench of defeat on us as we try to remind ourselves that it’s a new day to a fresh start. Morning and evening showers or baths temporality wash way the slime and filth that we have picked up along the way. Subconsciously, we feel relief from the grips of grime that hold us captive. The memories, the thoughts, the smells, the iniquity washes off you and goes down the drain. We wash it away with soap and water and move forward with the hope of forgiveness and a new day. We find relief. The day ends. Lights go out. The Accuser returns. He reminds us and whispers into our ears twisted lies.

Let me introduce you to……..
The Accuser of the Brethren
He has been around a long time wrecking havoc on the finished work of the Cross. He could be found before Christ in the Garden of Eden.

Honestly, if he can’t keep you from hell he will do all he can to bring hell to you.
In a basket all wrapped up with reminders of past sins. Tied up with chains and cords of shame, guilt, unworthiness, defeat, grief, self-hatred and the list goes on until you are sure the package was delivered as your fate in life. You are convinced it is the cross you must carry for the things done against you or with your permission.

These are all LIES released from him with your permission.

You hear them over and over in your mind.

They speak the loudest right before you lay your head down to go to sleep. Especially after a day of defeat or misunderstanding.

Let’s replay the possible thoughts and expose them for what they are.
Lies from the pit of hell

You are not forgiven.
How could you serve God after what happened to you?
You are not worthy to be called a son or daughter of God.
God has not forgotten what you did.
You should be ashamed of what happened.
You are dirty and used up now.
You will never feel clean or pure again.
You already messed up so go ahead and do it again.
You are invisible and no one would miss you if you were gone.
What you did is unforgivable.
You are fat!
You are stupid!
You are unloveable and no one cares about you.
You deserved it. You participated and didn’t stop it.
You will never be like _______. You messed up and this is who you are. Fill in the ___________.
God can’t use you. He only uses people who haven’t done that.
You are all alone.
God doesn’t hear your prayers.

These lies will BECOME our truth about ourselves. It becomes our self-talk that shapes how we view ourselves and how others view us.
You make a inner vow that you think protects you from another attack.

I will never trust a man again.
I will not let someone get that close to me again.

The truth is it locks you into an attack against yourself.

Let’s all welcome!

Self Hatred , Self Sabotage , Self Pity they just received their invitations from you to to join your inner thoughts. It’s becomes your new identity.

Your inner banner becomes your walk and your talk.

The lies turn into your declarations.
I am unloveable

I am not worthy of__________.

I am dirty.

I am ashamed.

I am not good enough.

Unless we stop or change the record of lies playing in our mind it will stay on repeat mode over and over again. You just stepped on to the ride of your life. A merry go round of lies and deceit. It will not stop until you jump off and decide that your mirror of truth must be exchanged for something other than the negative self talk that birthed out of your hurts, traumas, and bad choices in life.

You must make the first step towards your freedom.

This is the Good News!! The Word of God has it all covered. If you choose to set up the Word of God as your new mirror to view yourself and others a new Christ identity emerges out of you.
Have you ever asked Jesus to be your Savior and asked for forgiveness of you sins? Have you decided to follow Him?
If your answer is yes, your new identity is in Christ. Everything is reflected in Him and through Him.

Don’t let identity theft happen to you!! The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. The first thing he wants to take way for you is your identity.

Christ in us the hope of glory!

This is not an automatic process.

You must choose to take every thought captive and pull down any strongholds that are not filtered through the Word of God.

This requires action and intention.

Work work and more work
Work out your own salvation

Not your eternity salvation but you becoming WHOLE in your body, spirit and soul.
Phil 2:12-16 NIV

12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

14Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”c Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

David from the Old Testament had his fill of sins he chose and sins done against him. After all he was a murderer, adulterer, and liar. Those are just a few of his accomplishments recorded. God chose to identify him as a man after God’s own heart. This came after countless times David confessed and lamented about his sinful ways. He turned from his ways and chose to seek after God. God gave us His Son through David’s lineage to bring salvation to the world. God obviously was able to restore David’s stolen identity.

An opportunity to become born into a new identity in Christ was granted through David. Sons and daughters of God are given the choice to identify with all the inheritance promised to us through Jesus.

Here’s David’s Psalm 32 slate wiped clean below. Will you allow God to give you a new slate? A new identity that comes with all the promises and truths from a Father that gave His Son to you so that you could live out your purposes and dreams He put in you before you were born!

A David Psalm

32 Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be—

    you get a fresh start,

    your slate’s wiped clean.

2 Count yourself lucky—

    God holds nothing against you

and you’re holding nothing back from him.

3 When I kept it all inside,

    my bones turned to powder,

    my words became daylong groans.

4 The pressure never let up;

all the juices of my life dried up.

5 Then I let it all out;

I said, “I’ll make a clean breast of my failures to God.”

Suddenly the pressure was gone—

    my guilt dissolved,

    my sin disappeared.

6 These things add up. Every one of us needs to pray;

when all hell breaks loose and the dam bursts

we’ll be on high ground, untouched.

7 God’s my island hideaway,

keeps danger far from the shore,

throws garlands of hosannas around my neck.

8 Let me give you some good advice;

I’m looking you in the eye

and giving it to you straight:

9 “Don’t be ornery like a horse or mule

    that needs bit and bridle

    to stay on track.”

10 God-defiers are always in trouble;

    God-affirmers find themselves loved

    every time they turn around.

11 Celebrate God.

    Sing together—everyone!

All you honest hearts, raise the roof!

Double For Your Troubles

Many people have had so many troubles this week.

Trouble of all kinds

Computer troubles

Car troubles

Marriage troubles

Health troubles

Finance troubles

Children troubles

House troubles

Work troubles

Insurance troubles

Those are just the few I have heard or read about from my friends and family, or my own family have experienced this week.

Our Country has also had some pretty horrific troubles just this week. In the Orlando Florida area alone they had 3 big news stories that shocked many of us.
1. Christina Grimme- the Voice finalist and singer gunned down after a concert.

2. The Pulse Nightclub massacre with the horrific act of terrorism by an individual killing 50 and wounding 50+.

3. A small child at the Happiest Place On Earth, carried away by an alligator as his dad fought to free him and now they have to prepare for a funeral; not enjoy the rest of their vacation.

I have been in deep prayer all week for many many people going through all sorts of troubles.

Today as I was unpacking my groceries, I was washing a big bag of cherries. I noticed a double cherry and thought- Oh How Cute! Twins!

Being an identical twin that also has boy/girl twins- I love Twinning!

Twinning Is Winning!
I decided to check to see if in fact there were two separate seeds- so I ate it and sure enough it did!
As I finished washing the bag of cherries- I kept picking out Twin cherries again … And again…. And Again…..And Again….

Another 53 times I pulled out Double Cherries!

I quickly felt my spirit stir and knew God was trying to speak to me. So I added up the total. I counted a total of 54 Double Cherries! (remember I ate one set!)

So I doubled the 54 which is 108.
I thought- what does those numbers represent? What is the significance Lord?
I felt the Lord whisper Psalm 108.

So, I looked it up…..

Psalm 108

O God, my heart is ready to praise you! I will sing and rejoice before you. Say thank you to the Lord for being so good, for always being so loving and kind. Wake up, O harp and lyre! We will meet the dawn with song. I will praise you everywhere around the world, in every nation. For your loving-kindness is great beyond measure, high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches the skies. His glory is far more vast than the heavens. It towers above the earth. Hear the cry of your beloved child—come with mighty power and rescue me. God has given sacred promises; no wonder I exult! He has promised to give us all the land of Shechem and also Succoth Valley. “Gilead is mine to give to you,” he says, “and Manasseh as well; the land of Ephraim is the helmet on my head. Judah is my scepter. But Moab and Edom are despised; and I will shout in triumph over the Philistines.” Who but God can give me strength to conquer these fortified cities? Who else can lead me into Edom? Lord, have you thrown us away? Have you deserted our army? Oh, help us fight against our enemies, for men are useless allies. But with the help of God we shall do mighty acts of valor. For he treads down our foes. ~Psalm 108:1-13

Right at the end is where God got my attention:
Oh, help us fight against our enemies, for men are useless allies. But with the help of God we shall do mighty acts of valor. For he treads down our foes. ~Psalm 108:1-13

With the help of God we shall do mighty acts of valor!

Yes! Yes! Indeed we can!
We have been Called To Valor! (See that prior Prophetic Word Here

Christ First- Christ Centered is what I have been sharing with my kiddos, with my friends, and with my family lately.

The help for All our troubles – for this countries troubles – the Nations troubles – the World’s troubles…. is Only God.

Christ First- Christ Centered

God needs us! We must answer the Call To Valor!
God needs all of us to help Him reach the World!
We must abide in Christ!

Get synced up with Jesus!

The Power of Christ in us; The Holy Spirit, is the Only Power To Empower us!

Together– In Christ and in love is how we rid the World from all the evil and darkness erupting all around us. That is how we heal the horrific hurts and troubles we and so many others are facing. That is how our land is united and our lives are Restored!

By the way….He is also the only God that Promises Double for our troubles!

Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, Your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever. ~ Isaiah 61:7 MSG

Missions

WORTHY THOUGHT:  Going on a missions trip to share the Gospel to other countries is exciting but does the journey worry, or scare you?

God the Father meets the everyday needs of your life as you follow Him. When we need to know which way to go, He shows us the right path and then goes before us to prepare the way. Even in places of danger, we need not to be afraid. God makes our steps sure! God protects His own, don’t fear.

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though we walk through a valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:3-4

It is also extremely important that you know God’s calling for you to go on a mission to share the Gospel is also His commandment, means you need to obey and do His will. He will guide you and strengthen you.
God will never put you on a journey without preparing you.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9

Jesus also commanded to his disciples right before he ascended to heaven “go into the world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.” The Lord Jesus was with them in spirit wherever they had gone and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

And he said to them, “Go into the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.  And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message accompanying signs.– Mark 16:15,20

We have victory and peace when we keep our mind on the Lord.~ Angela Lipe-Pattengill

Come Near Lord

“I live in a high and holy place,

but also with the one who is contrite

and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit

of the lowly and to revive the heart

of the contrite.”

Isaiah 57:15 NIV

Dearest Father in heaven,

A fallen world continues to produce sin, hurt and pain. May it not be the significance of what is most important. Do not allow the ground to be saturated in the darkness of sin, even though the heart of man has escaped far from you.

Come near, O Lord, create new growth through the nurturing of your voice. Let the sound continue to fertilize established roots. Shine down in radiant splendor on the life that lives deep within the soil of your land. Firmly plant your Spirit as the replacement to the root-bound heart.

Water and refresh each season of new life. Produce an unforeseen harvest that reflects the nature of who you are in abundant mercy, grace, and newness. Oh Lord, revive the heart that lacks the ability to receive, especially when you desire to give so much. Bring unity to your garden. By your presence be made known.

In Jesus name, amen.

More Than A Name

I love learning new things!  Recently while I was researching and studying the story of Ruth from the Bible, I stumbled upon ruth as a word- not a person.
So now it makes sense where the word ruthless comes from.  I never knew it was more than a name.

I believe it of course had to of been created after Ruth, the Bible character, because she was the epitome of compassion for the misery of another.

All you words with friends and scrabble fans- here is a word you can use next time and impress your friends.
