Thy Will Be Done

  

I keep hearing this song every time I get into my car. I meant to look it up but just hadn’t gotten around to it when a friend shared it recently on Facebook and said it was Thy Will by Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.

I was studying in James Chapter 4 this week for my upcoming Divine Connections study group and right there in James 4:13- subtitled in The Living Bible translation was “God has a plan for us.” 

Here are the verses:

Look here, you people who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to such and such a town, stay there a year, and open up a profitable business.” How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog—now you see it; soon it is gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we shall live and do this or that.” Otherwise you will be bragging about your own plans, and such self-confidence never pleases God. Remember, too, that knowing what is right to do and then not doing it is sin. ~ James 4:13-17 TLB 

So I penned down in my journal – “Lord Willing” and then quickly wrote – “Thy Will Be Done”  which had me go back to this new song and give it another listen.

 What a great song that can be all our heartfelt prayers when we aren’t sure of God’s plans in our lives.
