Yesterday, Today, And Tomorrow

Sometimes friendships and relationships fade.

Sometimes during the seasons of life; like the turning of the leaves, the circumstances and people around us will change.

It isn’t always a bad thing.

Not everyone can go where God is calling you.

Sometimes we need a change so we can learn to grow or stand on our own.

One thing I do know for sure,

           Jesus never changes!

Embrace the new uncharted territory you may be walking through. Take comfort in Jesus that will always be unchanged in an ever changing world.

I Don’t Revisit Painful Places

It was a reoccurring dream from my childhood.

I was standing in the foyer of my great grandparents home in the dark.

It was night time and the wind was blowing the white sheers in the long windows of each bedroom.

I was pulling out a fleshy rope from out of my mouth.

It was so long and it kept coming out as I wrapped it around my hand desperately trying to yank it out but there was no end.

I was in elementary school and it was very frightening.

It was bitter and it was choking me. I will never forget the texture or the taste.

There was no one to help me or explain what was happening.

My teeth felt like they were loosening and coming out.

What a weird dream?!?

Never understood it and

I don’t revisit painful places

but….this heart of mine is being provoked and tilled and the light is exposing darkness.

The darkness has to leave and light always overcomes.

The foyer is gone.

The house no longer exists.

My memories of question are not answered by bitterness!

Oh taste and see that The Lord is Good!!!

His sweetness and shining are triumphing over that place I stood battling that unseen force …..I’m dying but only to those lonely places…

It is time to rest and not fight.

Bitterness will not be my plight.

I’m learning, listening, leaning on the Lord of Life.

Her Clothes Were Not Good Enough For Church

This is a great blog I follow. I hope you all enjoy this wonderful story and remember you are “Good Enough” in Christ! XXOO Michelle Bollom

A Story By Me

“rad mwen yo pa bon ase pou legliz” (My clothes are not good enough for church)

I have been thinking about those words for over a month now, words spoken by a young woman in Haiti  just moments after giving her life to Christ.

This past April I went to Haiti on a mission trip with a group from my church. Several days of our trip we traveled to a church in a small village called Babaco.  To get to Babaco we had to travel down a road which we found out used to be a river.

haiti2015 049 The road to Babaco aka dry riverbed

We were told that during a Hurricane the river had somehow just disappeared.  Nobody knows exactly where the river went but its completely dried up now and the church in Babaco is perched along what used to be its bank.

No One Can Trouble Your Heart

Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me, Jesus.~John 14:1 AMP

This weeks song Sunday is such a simple song.
Close your eyes and really just listen to the words.

No one and Nothing can trouble our hearts if we are with the King, He’s always got the victory.

Sing the words over and over and praise Him for being so good to you!

United Pursuit – With The King

No one can trouble your heart

For I am with the King

and He’s always got the victory

We love you Jesus

You’re so very good to us

So very good to us

He’s always got the victory

Even through the ash

Seeming to have no flame

I feel you Lord

Swirling about…

With your jovial gaze

Seeing me

And allowing me to see

This earthly pain

Will never get in our way

If I keep my eyes on Thee

Blazing eyes of truth

Teaching me value

Through the wait

Your patience

Saving me

Every day

Of my life

Every evening

Enjoy The Ride

The bumps in the road can sometimes feel too much. Our shocks may be starting to wear out and the ride seems to be getting rougher than normal. They may even be in desperate need of repair before we bottom out.

The Master Traveler; God, knows the bumps before we do. If we allow Him to navigate and steer- He can avoid the bumps or protect us as we travel on those hard worn or stormy paths.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
This beautiful journey called life will always have unexpected twists and turns. Learn to get excited about the bumps like when you were a kid. Even when you can’t see the road, He knows just the right path to take. The bumps that shake and toss things around may actually be needed for things to be resettled and put back in God’s order.

He makes me whole again, steering me off worn, hard paths to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name.                                      ~ Psalm 23:3 The VOICE

Flipping Friends Hang Tight

We all know the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Well, why not look to some turtles for some examples of how this can be done simply in a nut shell!!!

Check out this video on The Dodo:

The Bible gives good friend advice!!
Luke 6:31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Romans 12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Out do one another in showing honor.
Jesus Does Too!
John 15:12-15 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

We Are All Waiting

She waits for her son

He waits for his wife

She waits on the man

To break free from the child

We are all waiting…

Didn’t He say

It would be this way

Waiting on The Lord

If He would hurry!

Affording us the time

Of our lives

Hoping, praying, waiting

Trust being the vehicle

We all must ride

On a narrow path

With no headlight or brakes

We wait for a sign

Signaling our table’s ready

An angelic host

Seating us

With our petition

Before us

Like gourmet spaghetti

Finally partaking

Like lovemaking

Oh taste and see

The Lord is Good

He is Good

Good enough

To wait for

A Better Focus

Never focus on your problems.

Instead, focus on God’s promises.

There is a promise to every problem.

And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. ~2 Peter 1:4 NLT

The Jesus I know goes out of his way to meet with messy girls like us. My goal has always been to love in a way that says, “Please interrupt me.”

It’s easier for us to feel strong and put together. But, sometimes I think we are just faking it because we view neediness as weakness. But, I think neediness really is something we have need of wrapped in hope. My needs lead me to a God who knows what to do when I have no stinking clue what’s next.

Hope always rises. Always. There’s a beauty in allowing your life to come to a halt, and then a slow start that seems like a pace that is steady. I’ve learned how to slow down even though the wheels in my head are constantly turning.

Sometimes I feel like I’m in deep water and still somehow thirsty for a new…
