Tablets of My Heart

David Crowder has a song, “Here’s My Heart” that has a great message of surrender.
I was listening to this song one evening when I closed my eyes and imagined Jesus writing with a pencil on the tablets of my heart!! I saw notebook paper shaped like a heart resting on me as if it were actually my heart.
I immediately had the thought,
“These are the tablets of your heart!”.
I asked God what he was trying to show me through this picture in my mind. This is what flowed from my pencil in my journal.

Allow Me to write on the tablets of your heart…….
To form your thoughts
To produce your words
To create a new heart in you
To cover you with My declarations
To speak what is true
To compose a melody in your heart
To express myself through you
making a permanent impression of Me
To write your story with your permission

Signed, Jesus ❤️

Then I found these words in the Bible that were written about “tablets of your heart”.

“Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:3-6).

“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”
(Proverbs 4:20-23).

“My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart” (Proverbs 7:1-3).

Proverbs 3:5-6 has always been one of my favorite verses and I had never noticed before the verses before it mentioning the tablets of your heart.

Are we willing to release the lies we have believed and replace them with what is true?
Can we surrender our hearts rhythm and allow it to be redirected by our Creator’s songs of love and restoration?
Will you hand Him the permission to write on the tablets of your heart?
