Time Flies

IMG_0468.JPG

The older I get the faster time flies. We wake up Monday and blink and sleep and then it’s Friday again. We ring in a New Year and by the time we get the Christmas decorations stored away fully then Spring fever sets in then we settle into lazy Summer days then back to the grind of school and Fall schedules and then it is nearing the end of the year with Christmas music in the air and time to get back out those decorations. We seem to rush and rush and it keeps passing us by. There is just no stopping the clock. Time really does fly!

Although it is really only October, I can’t help but reflect and feel like this year has flown by way too fast. It was packed full and now all those things have come and gone and just become memories to cherish. With my teenagers just 6 months away from turning 16, the years have seemed to of flown by just a little too quickly.
I still picture them as babies running around, but they are looking now like little adults all right before my eyes.

I think of times past and loved ones no longer on this earth. I count the years they have been gone and it shocks me to think where did the years go?
I read this verse and I know why David penned this Psalm.

“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered–how fleeting my life is. ~ Psalm 39:4 NLT

And this one…

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. ~ Psalm 90:12 NIV

And of course Solomon and his wisdom….

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven. ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1 NASB

Let us make the most of our time. Slow down and enjoy life. Don’t wish for tomorrow or regret yesterday. Live right here in the now enjoying those around you. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow- all we have is today! Right now! XXOO Michelle Bollom
